The Department Shopping Guide: Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills is a big town and navigating through the stores gets a bit confusing.

It’s always easier to go to one big place to hit all your shopping needs. That’s why high-end department stores are always hustling and bustling with valet parking, lunch spots, and VIP shopping concierges. Pick one store or pick them all! All you have to do is show up.

Barneys New York

This trendy store never fails when you need something out of the ordinary. The marble stairs either lead down to the perfume and makeup section or up to haute couture. Barneys certainly carries brands that you don’t see in a regular high-end store, which makes it so unique. The best new addition here is Fred’s restaurant, brought all the way from New York City. You can sip martinis and have some bagels and lox while you rest from a long day of shopping with a view of the Hollywood Hills. Don’t forget to valet!

Tip: Make a reservation for Fred’s in advance. They tend to get real busy on the weekends!www.barneys.com

Neiman Marcus

Neiman Marcus is an old school staple in this town and got a brand new lift to catch up with the trends. Their makeup and perfumery is downstairs along with their newly remodeled restaurant Mariposa. Can you already smell the popovers with strawberry butter? With a Goyard and Chanel departments in tow you can come here for the whole nine yards. Don’t forget to check out the iconic Bar on 4 on the top floor of the store if you want to enjoy a strong drink and a quick bite.

Tip: Try a Cosmo at Bar on 4- they serve it New York style in a shaker.www.neimanmarcus.com

Saks Fifth Avenue

With one of the best customer services around town Saks never fails especially during sale season! Their sale prices are usually one of the best along the row. The men’s and women’s are in separate buildings and the parking in the back can get a bit congested. They also have a casual café for a quick shopping break on the fifth floor. Try their BLT or a pizza! Don’t forget to check out their large bridal department for all your wedding needs.

Tip: Check out their infamous shoe department-it’s a site not to be missed.www.saksfifthavenue.com
