What is the first trip you remember taking?

I grew up in a small town in regional Australia so my earliest memory of family trips away involved many, many hours of driving (often 16+) in our Ford station wagon, sandwiched between two big brothers singing ‘99 bottles of beer on the wall’… It would usually have been to Sydney to visit my cousins.

If you could sit next to anyone – dead or alive – on a long-haul flight, who would it be?

Oprah.

How do you recover from jet lag?

Dr Tara Swart told me a couple of years ago that the key to avoiding jet lag is not to eat on a long haul flight; instead I drink loads of water and then eat whichever meal is appropriate time-wise when I land. I regularly travel between Australia and the UK, and I’ve found this really works! I also switch my clocks to the new time zone immediately and don’t give it another thought.

A friend of mine is about to launch a supplement range called 15th Degree, designed to help beat jet lag naturally. I think it’ll do really well.

Your flight’s delayed an hour and your phone’s out of battery. How do you pass the time?

I’d probably try and find somebody to chat to, or if not I’d buy a book!

Biggest lesson from your travels?

Value the opportunity and treat local culture with respect.

Do you travel for food, leisure, culture or something else?

Gosh, all of the above… the sights, the smells, the people. I love meeting new people. I travel for different reasons too – to relax, to experience something new, for adventure or for sacred family time.
