Citizen Femme Hotlist: 03.10.18

Picking 5 of our favourites this week was troubling. The hottest beauty launch of the year? New openings? Must-have travel accessories?

From perfecting your brow symmetry under the skill of the Couture Brow Queen to sustainable denim, to Space NK’s launch of the Drunk Elephant range. Enjoy this week’s Citizen Femme Hot List.

BUY THIS Drunk Elephant

Get ready for a stampede as cult US brand launches at Space NK this week. Famed for its pared-back yet effective product range and bright packaging, the products are a favourite for skin care experts around the world.

What sets it apart from the skincare crowd? Drunk Elephant products are free of what founder Tiffany calls “The Suspicious Six”, fragrance and dyes, silicones, drying alcohol, essential oils, chemical sunscreens and SLS. Why the name? Marula Oil is a key ingredient and in researching its origin, she discovered the myth of elephants getting drunk off the fermented, fallen marula fruit. And there you have it.

The range is full of popular products you may have spotted on your social media feed, including the Lala Retro Whipped Cream moisturiser, which costs £60. There’s also the Intensive Hydration Serum which replenishes thirsty skin and the highly-rated Beste Jelly Cleanser which removes all traces of makeup, excess oil and pollution. Other products include the B-Hydr Intensive Hydration Serum, £52, and the Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil, £72.

BOOK THIS The Couture Brow by Suzanne Martin

Were you also a victim of that horrible fad in the 90s where women over-plucked their eyebrows? Then the beautiful, thick Penelope Cruz brow came back in style. Introducing Suzanne Martin of The Couture Brow, housed in the completely refurbished Lanesborough Club and Spa. The Couture Brow is an artistic approach, inspired by Suzanne’s years working for Christian Dior. Combining art and aesthetics, she creates a bespoke brow for each woman.

She uses a micro-needling technique to carefully and painlessly place hand blended hypo-allergenic mineral pigments just under the top layer of the skin in individual hair strokes. Endless compliments and zero maintenance.

Price £1400. Raising a brow at that? Isn’t perfection priceless?

TRAVEL WITH THIS Ven Travel Sets

Starting with Collection 00 from Ven – The Essentials. A blanket, an eye mask, socks and pillow cover, all made from 100% cashmere in grey or navy. Fuss-free, providing basic requirements for the modern traveller. The pillow cover fits the dimensions of most airlines’ standard cushions, the eye masks are backed with cotton cashmere which is cooler on the eyes, so it’s comfortable and functional.

Founded by ex-fashion editor and frequent flyer Charlotte Lewis, Ven just makes life that little bit easier.

WEAR THESE Saltspin Jeans

Your new favourite jeans. Embracing the denim revolution, and taking it up a notch is Saltspin. Saltspin’s denim isn’t just about looks though – it’s built of proper substance to stand the test of time and they use as many eco practices as they can, to help protect the world we live in. Laser washing gives the denim its character and depth, the brand uses zero water in the wash process, less power and over 60% fewer chemicals (vs. conventional methods) to have the lowest environmental impact possible. Perfect amounts of fabric stretch, weight, pocket detailing make a huge difference and a far superior jean. They provide unrivalled comfort, smoothness and accentuation in all the right places. It’s honest denim.

Shopping stylishly and consciously? Saltspin is challenging the leading names. Catch them while they’re hot.

STAY HERE Fauchon L’Hôtel, Paris

Famous French bakery takes a foray into hospitality revealing its new, stylish, 54-room hotel, the first in a series of Fauchon hotels, aiming to please far more than its guests’ palates – chic à la française. The hotel’s elegant Haussmann building, which houses the hotel’s 54 rooms and suites, encapsulates splashes of the brand’s signature hot pink, herringbone floors, jewel-toned fabrics, and fashion-inspired photography. Each room also features French doors and balconies from which you might spy the Eiffel Tower or Paris Opera. Our favourite? Bathrooms stocked with French brand Carita.

Naturally, cuisine is a big part of the hotel’s experience, starting with the reimagined minibars – called Gourmet Bars — custom-stocked with (often complimentary) Fauchon delicacies, from fresh pastries and foie gras to fruit-infused Champagnes. Breakfast in Jardin des Thés and cocktails at Glam’Hours. J’adore.
