Christmas Shopping in London: The Best Hotels

Christmas shopping. Two words, when put together, sometimes want to make you tear your hair out. So what’s the best way to deal with it? Take your time, book a base in the city for a night or two, let the Hotel take care of you, and once you have checked off the list (for yourself too!), catch a show and some dinner, and this may well become your Christmas highlight.

Here is our selection of the most shopping friendly hotels for your Christmas shopping in London – luxe, comfortable and cheery, three words that almost make us want Christmas shopping everyday.

The Wellesley, Knightsbridge

The Wellesley Knightsbridge is boutique, grandeur and art-deco rolled into one. Simply distinguished. Situated amidst the festive glamour of Knightsbridge, Citizen Femme’s need to check in here for a pre-Christmas shopping trip and part of the 12 Jewels of Christmas package. You will be whisked away in the hotel’s courtesy chauffeur service to De Beers’ store on Old Bond Street. Here, you can enjoy a private diamond consultation.

Perhaps a wander around the stores for checking off the Christmas list. On returning, make the most of a 24-hour butler who will look after everything, even a bubble bath to rest your aching shopping feet. If only Christmas came every day.

The Landmark London

Book in for a day trip to Bicester, including brunch at Café Wolseley, finishing with a Festive Afternoon Tea at The Landmark London with a glass of champagne. Now that’s how Christmas shopping should be done.

The Mandeville Hotel, Marylebone

In the very stylish area of Marylebone, The Mandeville Hotels sits right in the centre of it all. With Marylebone High Street on one side, Selfridges, Oxford Street and Bond Street on the other, you can either take advantage of the shops around you, or get a chauffeur driven car to to Bicester Village and enjoy a VIP experience with 10% off, and enjoy a well earned bottle of champagne on the drive back.

Alternatively, book in a half or full day with The Mandeville’s in-house shopping concierge Boo Attwood, the stylist with all the know-how. So helpful, she’ll even help you check off your shopping list! Come back to a glass of champagne and sink into the bar’s luscious leather banquets. You can always head back to Selfridge’s the next day.

Brown's Hotel, Mayfair

If you’re looking to treat yourself, Brown’s Hotel has joined forces with fine jeweller Boodles, its Albemarle Street neighbour, decorating the entire hotel with an enchanted travel experience. Prepare to step into a magical winter wonderland, complete with miniature Boodles hot air balloons overhead and a glittering Christmas tree centrepiece with Boodles gift boxes beneath.

Start with a bottle of Ruinart Rosé Champagne, followed by a private consultation at Boodles boutique with spending money in store.  After picking with your own Christmas bauble, return to the hotel for a neck, back and shoulder massage in The Spa. Trying all that jewellery can be so very stressful.
