Citizen Femme Hotlist: 04.02.19

This week’s Hotlist is all about launches. From jewellery brands to make up stores and cinema to exhibitions, we’ve got the round-up of the latest exciting events in London and beyond.

Dry Jan is over and February has arrived! That means that Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and there is no better way to romance that special someone than with a stay at Barcelona’s The One. Their Valentine’s package will have you swooning.

Bvlgari Breakthrough Women in Film Series

The Bvlgari Hotel London has announced the full line up for the second edition of their Breakthrough Women in Film Series, until March 2019. The Knightsbridge hotel’s cinema will host screenings that champion young female filmmakers and female-driven storylines.

Celebrating the most exciting new female talent in filmmaking, each screening will be followed by a live Q&A session with the director, or leading member of the film’s cast. Guests will have the opportunity to watch a world-class, pre-release film and gain intimate access to the backstory of each project.

The series kicked off in November 2018 and coming up we have Josephine Decker’s Madeline’s Madeline on Tuesday 26 February and ending with Libya-based documentary Freedom Fields on Thursday 21 March.

Valentine’s Day at The One Barcelona

The One Barcelona presents its ‘Falling in Love’ Valentine’s Day package – the perfect escape for two to one of the most romantic destinations on Earth, where you can experience the city in true style.

After being picked up from the airport in a luxury chauffeured vehicle, you will be welcomed at the brand new, palatial hotel with a glass of Perrier-Jouët. A stunning bouquet of 24 Barraca roses await in your exceptional, contemporary suite of choice.

In the hotel’s Despacio Spa, you and your Valentine will indulge in full body massages using organic coconut oil, to the resounding symphony of Tibetan bells that calm and balance the body and mind.

As evening draws in, delight in the exquisite menu at the hotel’s Somni restaurant. A starter of oysters with vermouth is followed by fresh red mullet or a rich and hearty beef stew and paired perfectly with wines from the region. Following dinner, cocktails will be enjoyed on the rooftop where you can drink in the spectacular views over the city – a unique perspective only seen from The One Barcelona. Your candlelit rooftop romance will be accompanied by melodies from your personal violinist, if you like. Blankets are provided to snuggle up as you lose yourselves in the romantic atmosphere.

Grace Han opens new London store

Purveyor of luxury leather goods and accessories, Grace Han is seriously making a name for herself on the fashion scene. First developed in a little workshop in Taipei, the Grace Han brand has now expanded over to our shores, bringing with it her trademark pleated leather bags and more. You’ll want to get your hands on these straight away.

The leather pleats in the brand’s signature ‘Ballet Lesson’ collection are an innovation that took seven years to perfect, a testament to her persistence and commitment to quality. Grace is the daughter of a committed entrepreneur father and an artistic, calligrapher mother who influence her unique designs.

We can’t blame her for selecting London as the location for her first boutique. Her designs are a reflection of her love for London and its fashion-forward style, and we think this is just the beginning for her burgeoning brand.

Grace says of her new store: “I believe masterpieces in art and architecture are those that can withstand the test of time and make people feel. That is the power of design. And I wanted the very same for our first boutique in the world.”

Ro Copenhagen

The super chic Danish jewellery brand is set to make waves in the UK. Using a skilled team of craftsmen and goldsmiths, Ro creates pieces that are tailored to the modern woman.

Every piece of jewellery starts as a hand sketch by the company’s founder, Helle Leiberg Nissen. Ro means serenity, and the feeling of calm that Helle gets from sitting down to create her designs inspired her label’s name. Her pieces range from earrings, rings, bracelets, necklaces and more, and have a distinctly delicate form but robust quality.

A signature diamond is found in all of Ro’s jewellery – sometimes so discreet that it is barely discernible. Be your own special someone and treat yourself to a beautiful piece of jewellery this Valentine’s.

Milk Make Up x Cult Beauty launches

Cruelty-free, paraben-free and 100% vegan – sounds tasty, right?! This is what you should be wearing now, and Milk make up is now available here in the UK through Cult Beauty.

“Style and beauty are not masks. They’re how we find our true selves.” The New York based make up maestros take inspiration from the Big Apple’s ever-evolving street style, consistently inspiring us all to #liveyourlook.

Their chunky and funky pieces are totally contemporary, with a latest range of glows that add some outer space to your face!

Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams at the V&A

From its inception in 1947, the Parisian fashion house has forged an illustrious history, dressing the most glamours names, from Hollywood A-listers to royalty – the Dior brand is a household name. The couturier adored Britain nearly as much as his native France, and this exhibition demonstrates the various inspirations he drew from his love affair with our side of the Channel.

Where better than the sumptuous V&A museum to house Dior’s breath-taking creations over the last seven decades? The exhibition showcases countless stunning dresses, coats and accessories as well as jewellery, fragrances and original sketches.
