The Best Beach Parties: 9 Chic Spots For Luxurious Fun In The Sun

There a two kinds of beach holidays. One entails rest, relaxation, fitness and fun while the other involves total gluttony, extreme laziness and bottle-popping celebrations. We prefer the latter.

Thankfully, there are plenty of highly exclusive, ultra-luxe beach clubs that cater to our frivolous fancy.

Nikki Beach, Miami

While this chain of beach clubs can be found in various destinations around the world, Miami was its birthplace. This original icon located in Miami’s trendy South of Fifth neighbourhood just celebrated its 20th anniversary of epic beachfront dance parties with a Côte dAzurmeets-Miami madness vibe.

Scorpios, Paraga, Mykonos, Greece

This Greek island is where tourists come to party and its plethora of beach clubs (old and new) caters to the crowds. Hippie-chic Scorpios attracts Burning Man types to its rocky beach party. Think: tattooed waitstaff serving and drummers in feather headdresses performing, while guests coolly sip specialty cocktails on driftwood daybeds under wicker lampshades.

Macakizi, Bodrum, Turkey

Bodrum has long served as a seaside escape for Istanbul’s chic city dwellers. This coastal paradise on the Aegan Sea is filled with stunning hotels and clubs, and the Macakizi Hotel’s status as the best beach club in the area can hardly be argued. Get out your chicest shades and most stylish swim suit to sunbathe among the well-heeled guests on the property’s gorgeous waterfront boardwalk.

Nammos, Dubai, U.A.E.

In this Middle Eastern playground for affluent globe-trotters, excess reigns. So, naturally there’s plenty of beach clubs to choose from. But the newest to hit the scene hails from the Mecca of beach parties: Greece. Famed for its day-to-night parties, white and turquoise umbrellas and celebrity-spotting, Nammos just debuted at the luxurious Four Seasons Resort Dubai, Jumeirah Beach Road—giving locals a taste of the Mediterranean good life.

10 Punto 7, Formentera, Spain

While certainly no longer a hidden gem, Formantera is far less visited than her big sister Ibiza. Filled with white sandy beaches and oceanfront cafes, the smallest of the Balearic islands is a Spanish paradise. This family-owned beachside restaurant is a foodie haven. Overlooking Playa Migjorn, the club’s laid-back vibe is perfect for daytime lounging.

Le Club 55, St Tropez, France

Beautiful people parties on the beach is what this not-so-hidden-gem in the South of France is all about and celebrity favourite Le Club 55 is the “it” spot to be seen there. Elton John, Jeff Bezos, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kitty Spencer are among the jet-setters to have visited this al fresco restaurant, beach club and boho bazaar. Originally a fisherman’s hut serving Brigette Bardot and her film crew in 1955, the exclusive destination has evolved into one of the most luxurious hot spots on the planet.

UXUA Casa Hotel, Trancoso, Brazil

This bohemian-chic escape in Brazil’s Bahian coast is getting more and more attention from wealthy vacationers around the world—Naomi Campbell, Anderson Cooper and Beyoncé are among them. A former fishing village, the unspoiled beauty and laid-back luxury keep Brazil’s fashionable crowds coming back. UXUA CASA is the brainchild of the former creative director at Diesel and local artisans. Each and every detail is perfectly curated, making this colourful spot ooze authenticity.

Carpe Diem Beach, Stipanska Beach, Hvar Island, Croatia

Frolic seaside then party under the stars with world-class DJs, on one of Croatia’s most exclusive beaches. Just 10 minutes by speedboat from the resort island of Hvar, Carpe Diem Beach seems like another universe. Monthly full moon festivities add to its mystical charm.

Basil's Bar, Mustique, St Vincent and the Grenadines

This legendary and beloved party shack recently got a major makeover by Philippe Starck. Not to worry, the royal favourite is still as charming as ever with its live music and ridiculously gorgeous views. New additions include an open kitchen and hidden corners for private moments. Sip on a Hurricane David (white and dark rum, Kahlua, lime juice and sugar syrup) whilst trying not to gawk at the celebrities and socials around you.
