This Week CF Loves

Citizen Femme Hotlist: 25.05.20

What do we really need right now? (Outside of a plane ticket). Some added home essentials that take us through a slow transition to the outside world.

This week we are highlighting some must-haves, or as we like to call it ‘need-haves’. Gin and ice cream being at the top of our list, alongside glowing skin, feel good red lipstick and comfortable transition clothes. Bring on the week, head-on.

DRINK THIS Harvey Nichols Gin'O Clock Hamper

It’s Gin o’ clock somewhere. And as the British do the classic Gin & Tonic so well, this is the only kit you need. It’s a gift hamper, but we say gift yourself.

Harvey Nichols’ Gin o’clock hamper stays loyal to our British roots, featuring two favourite British gin miniatures, one is a multi-award-winning bottle crafted in the Cairngorms National Park, and the other is a herbaceous affair inspired by a walk through the woodlands of Manchester. To perfectly complement these, there are four premium flavoured tonic waters, plus plump green olives and moreish salted nuts to nibble on. All you’ll need is some ice, your garnish of choice and a couple of glasses – let the fun be gin (pun intended).

USE THIS

Foreo has upped their game with their UFO 2. Yes, it’s landed in time for pampering summer skin.

This pocket sized wonder machine debuts 8 different LED lights, easily connects to an app for customisable skincare routines, and advanced thermo and cryo-therapy all in a neat 90 second. Our favourite part? The T-Sonic soundwaves, gently massaging your face and extending deep into your pores. Ideal for the face wash-and-go, hardly mask, busy types (even during lockdown). Paired with their UFO Power Activated Masks, you really can’t go wrong.

Now, if only they had one for the full body.

MAKE THIS The Smeg ice-cream maker

‘Tis the season to move from banana bread to ice cream. If you’re looking for a new skill to master, why not take your cue from the summer sunshine and have a go at making your own ice cream? Smeg has just launched a marvellously easy-to-use ice cream maker that will help you whip up lashings of gelato, so all you need to focus on is what flavour you want to create.

Firstly, it’s important to note that Smeg’s new ice cream maker isn’t a stand alone machine – it’s an attachment that can be added to any of the brand’s existing stainless steel bowl stand mixers (priced from £379). However, if you have Smeg in hand already, then this genius add-on will be your gateway to frozen dessert heaven.

Each machine will make up to 1.1 litres of dessert in around 10 to 30 minutes. What’s more, the machine itself isn’t just for ice cream either – you can rustle up creamy gelato, refreshing sorbet, deliciously light frozen yogurt and thirst-quenching slushies and granita, too.

WEAR THIS Juni Cosmetics Lipstick

Ready to wear some red lippy and face the world? Now that we are hopefully making more sustainable choices, lets ensure our make up is too…introducing Juni’s Luxury Hydrating Lipsticks: 100% plastic-free, vegan and organic. It’s got all the hydration to keep lips conditioned and plumped, with the invaluable hyaluronic acid (but this one’s botanical).

A Capsule Collection with 5 universally flattering colours for every age + skin tone. “From the tactile shape of the sleek aluminium bullet, the satisfying engineering of the twist-release lid through to the luxurious feel of the buttery formulation on your lips,” the five shades add vibrancy and glow to your face without sacrificing the environment, explains the founder and model Madeleine White.

BUY THIS A.P.C. Eléonore mandarin-collar cotton jumpsuit

A pair of jeans seems like a long stretch away. So we are looking directly to the jumpsuit, which has made the transition from statement piece to closet staple, thanks to its infinite versatility. Jump from Zoom meetings to supermarket expeditions and daily constitutional strolls – the jumpsuit is as wearable as ever. Over to A.P.C. with their khaki-green cotton-satin Eléonore jumpsuit. Style it with a cross-body bag and simple sandals, maybe even a chunky chain and transition like the Queen that you are.
