P.E Nation Unveils Sustainable Skiwear Collection

Australian athleisure brand, P.E Nation, today unveils its first stand-alone sustainable skiwear line, so you can stay ethical in the snow.

The 15-piece strong collection comprises form-fitting leggings, sleek base layer knitwear, all-in-one ski suits and separate jackets and trousers, marrying the functionality and style any fans of the brand’s covetable gym wear will have come to love. Classic neutral hues contrast with striking colour-blocking combinations in punchy reds and pinks, so you can look chic whether you’re hitting the slopes or indulging at Après.

The eco capsule collection is made from recycled materials, cementing the brand’s sustainability ethos. We caught up with Co-Founder Pip Edwards to discuss the launch more…

How did the collection come about?

We are long time ski lovers and, in fact, the first jacket we ever designed was based off a retro ski vibe aesthetic. It was only natural to progress into the snow category, as we live and breathe our brand and only do what comes organically and speaks to our lifestyles. What was most important for us was to make a planet stance and have this conscious collection be fully sustainable, and to be one of the pioneers in making this change for the category is a trend we would like to see continue.

What is your favourite piece from the collection?

I love the red ski pant and the pink and red bomber jacket! It’s got so much flare and personality, and I’m all about the faux fur trim.

Talk me through the sustainable focus of P.E Nation…

Creating premium, quality clothing is essential to our brand, as is our commitment to sustainability and ensuring this is always a focus from the start. By fusing feminine fashion, elevated function, and technical recycled materials we’ve really raised the benchmark and produced a completely conscious snow collection.

And your favourite place to hit the slopes?

I love to ski in Queenstown, New Zealand, and Wanaka even more, especially Cardrona, it’s my favourite ski field in the world. However, a close second is Deer Valley in Utah, where we actually wear tested the collection. Vail and Aspen are also favourites. I’m yet to hit the European slopes, but looking forward to that day when it comes. We do actually have some amazing homegrown ski fields in Australia. Yes we do have snow in Australia! Thredbo is my village of choice.
