The CF Checklist: November

November is the month before sequins, feathery and kitsch jumpers galore (we hope!), so make the most of winter’s sartorial signatures.

Whether you’re looking to add to your roster of cosseting knits to wear indoors now, or statement pieces to wear later, we have you covered with our monthly shopping list to lust over. Enjoy this month’s CF checklist.

THE KNITTED DRESS

British label Joseph make the most sumptuous of knitwear. This oversized merino wool dress is the super versatile piece your wardrobe is crying out for. It can be worn alone over tights, or layered over slim-fit jeans and chunky boots. Sweeping to just above the ankle, it makes getting dressed so simple. The claret red shade conjours images of cosying up in a countryside pub, with a generous glass of wine by the fire. If only!

THE PATCHWORK BOOT

Never underestimate the power of a good boot to pull together your autumn/winter wardrobe and Jimmy Choo’s new Maybn 85 style ticks all the boxes. Snakeskin print leather spliced with classic black leather makes for a versatile palette, whilst the angular heel and square toe are very of the season. Wear with a thick legging and oversized knit.

THE STATEMENT COAT

Shrimps is the kitschy cool brand that keeps on giving. First came the covetable pearl bags, then came the saccharine pastel faux-fur coats and now their AW20 collection has raised the bar. The collection was inspired by forever icon, HRH The Queen, and whilst you won’t be wearing this statement coat for a walk around Balmoral, it will certainly cheer up your wintery walks. With a playful check print and faux fur oversized collar and cuffs, this coat is as regal as they come, and we are fully obsessed.

THE IT BAG

Few bags achieve cult status quite like the Mulberry Alexa of 2010, named in homage to style maven of the era, Alexa Chung. Now the It bag is back with a contemporary reboot, 10 years later, to mark the British accessories designer’s 50th anniversary. Available in new colours from neutral taupe and rich chestnut to forest green, it's also available in three different sizes depending on how heavy you are travelling. Mulberry has upped their sustainable credentials too with ethically sourced leather and production taking place in carbon neutral factories. We are ready for the Alexa hype 2.0!

THE COTTAGECORE CARDIGAN

The Cottagecore trend no one saw coming rolls on into autumn. Stow away your gingham dresses and make room for floral embroidered knits like this pretty confection from & Other Stories. Pair with a mom jean and chunky gold hoops for extra style points.

THE POWER EARRING

Even if you are staying in, wearing a power earring can make you feel infinitely more put together. Anissa Kermiche’s Kinetic Petal earrings immortalise delicate petals in plated gold that charmingly dance around your ears on their striking geometric frame. Perfect for adding some polish to your Zoom outfit, style them as the statement accent to a minimalist t-shirt. Planning ahead, these earrings will also work well paired with languid summer beach dresses for the future jaunts we are plotting for next year.

THE VELVET BLAZER

Cocktail hour may be off the cards for the foreseeable future but we’ll be ready to ring in it's return in style thanks to this emerald green velvet blazer from cool LA brand L’Agence. Perfect for layering over one of the brand’s silk slip tops, or buttoned up with nothing underneath it is the all american version of Le Smoking jacket.

THE KNITTED TWO PIECE

As anyone WFH will have realised, working in your pyjamas just isn't a recipe for productivity. Elevate your at-home outfits with Sandro's knitted wool cardigan and briefs co-ord in a pretty pink, buttery yellow or a neutral sand hue. We want it in every colour!
