This Week CF Loves: 04.01.21

It’s a new year, so we’ve rounded up five shiny new things that have caught our eye (and stolen our hearts) this week.

Whether seeking out the next must-watch Netflix docuseries, on the hunt for some interiors inspo, or simply wondering how to take your loungewear game up a notch, CF’s hotlist has you covered.

SLEEP IN THESE Asceno, Zurich pyjama shorts

Asceno’s high-rise Zurich pyjama shorts are the perfect addition to cosy nights by the fire and Sunday mornings lounging in bed. Encapsulating the label’s penchant for elegant yet understated silhouettes (here, flatteringly cut to the thigh) this particular iteration is exclusive to MATCHESFASHION. Constructed from burnt-orange, glossy silk satin their relaxed fit, complete with stitched-waist pleats and an elasticated back, makes for some seriously chic comfort wear. Add some luxury to your loungewear STAT.

TAKE TEA WITH THIS Helle Mardahl, Bon Bon glass cake stand

This year, we’re actively choosing to celebrate small moments of joy everyday. So, as the new year swoops in, we’re making a ritual of afternoon tea (for this week at least). Make like Marie Antoinette and up the ante with this pastel handmade piece from Copenhagen’s Helle Mardahl. The Bon Bon cake stand, complete with a clear domed cloche lid that rests on an asymmetric plate and a flared leg, is sweeter than sweet. We’re using ours to display our latest homemade creations (namely butterscotch blondies and vanilla coconut cupcakes).

SPARKLE WITH THIS Aurelie Bidermann, multi bells bracelet

We’re majorly into talismans, and this Aurélie Bidermann’s 18kt-gold bracelet is our (new) ultimate good-luck charm. Threaded with seven dainty bell charms, each studded with precious stones – we’re talking blue sapphires, tsavorites, amethysts and other delights – each bell is engraved with Aurélie Bidermann emblematic symbols including an elephant, a ladybug, and a clover. This lifetime piece has us totally charmed. In our book, it’s well worth the investment – you’ll treasure it forever.

DECORATE WITH THIS GUCCI, pineapple three-panel screen

A panelled screen can really transform a space. Take this pineapple jacquard rendition by GUCCI, inspired by the fashion houses’ ready-to-wear collection. Made to order, the screen oozes with panache and pizzazz, adding a flamboyant accent to any room. Helping to create intimacy at home, they also double as a conversation piece – and proving GUCCI’s coolness is multiform.

WATCH THIS Netflix, Pretend It's A City

Go on a tour of NYC with true-blue New Yorker Fran Lebowitz. Known for her straight talking, writer and humourist Lebowitz latest docuseries, directed by Martin Scorsese, is riddled with her signature no-nonsense observations about the city she calls home. Like a furiously funny guidebook to New York (for New Yorkers) Pretend It’s A City dissects subjects ranging from tourists and money, to subways and the arts. Take comfort in the film’s punchy running commentary – which includes Scorsese’s witty observations on the Big Apple. It’s tiding us over until a trip to NYC is back on the agenda (i.e. just as soon as travel restrictions lift).
