CF Editors Pick Their Favourite Beauty Products This Month

All the hottest January beauty drops we are coveting this month.

With many of us still experiencing lockdown living, we continue to take ritualistic pleasure in our skincare and beauty regimes. So, if you are looking for transporting scents, hard-hitting face masks, or skin-plumping face creams… keep scrolling.

THE NEW SCENT

The latest addition to Les Exclusifs de Chanel – the most covetable of Chanel scents – explores another chapter of Gabrielle Chanel's life: her love of astrology. As a Leo, Mademoiselle Chanel felt a strong affinity with her Zodiac sign, regularly using the lion as a motif on clothing and jewellery. This scent is suitably majestic: with heady notes of amber and leather-like labdanum, softened with the sweetness of vanilla.

THE NEW CULT FACE CREAM

“A summer rainfall for thirsty skin”, is how Summer Fridays describe this new gel moisturiser, and I’m inclined to agree. With three types of hyaluronic acid, it delivers 72 hours of hydration and springy bounciness to skin. Zingy pineapple enzymes gently buff, and a triple-threat of ceramides, amino acids, and minerals, work hard to strengthen the skin’s moisture barriers. It glides onto skin like a dream, leaving a fresh dewy glow.

THE CHERRY POP LIP

Charlotte Tilbury has released a New Year capsule to wish her 'darlings' a year bursting with love, luck, and happiness. After the rollercoaster that was 2020, this is very welcome indeed. We are particularly fond of her iconic Matte Revolution lipstick in the limited-edition shade, 'Lucky Cherry'. It's a bright red hue, with a super creamy formula, housed in a sleek red case.

THE ZESTY SCRUB

Skincare that takes you on a multi-sensory journey to sunnier climes, is very welcome during the mid-winter gloom. This lemon scented face scrub is sunshine bottled. With the texture of a zesty pool-side slushie, the sugar exfoliants polish skin, whilst high-potency AHAs offer a second chemical exfoliation to really slough dead skin cells. Skin feels instantly awakened and refreshed.

THE MUST-HAVE CANDLE

What makes a Diptyque candle even more irresistable? A limited-edition Diptyque candle, of course. To mark the iconic French perfumeur's 60th anniversary, Diptyque have unveiled a limited-edition collection of its most-coveted candles with a vintage-inspired design. Staying true to the inspirations of architecture and graphic design, the iconic monochrome jar boasts a smart striped design, enhanced with a pop of colour. It's perfect for pepping up your desk.

THE SLEEK MAKE UP BRUSHES

It's all very well having the most highly pigmented of eyeshadows, silkiest foundations, and sheerest of bronzers, but you need the correct tools to truly blend to perfection. Later this month, Illamasqua is launching 18 new individual brushes, alongside three kits. Fully vegan, with super-soft fibres, novices and professionals alike will love the Must Have Essentials Kit for face, lips, brows, and eyes.

THE FACIAL IN A BOTTLE

Stop what you are doing – Drunk Elephant’s cult mask is finally available in the UK, and has had skincare fanatics clambering to the Cult Beauty website to join the waiting list. If you are serious about combatting dull, dry skin, T.L.C. Sakuri Babyfacial is for you. It boasts an impressive 25% AHA and 2% BHA blend, formulated with skin-transforming acids. This potent concoction delivers surface and deep exfoliation to visibly smooth skin texture, and diminish the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles. Baby soft skin is finally in reach.

THE CBD SKINCARE

Feeling a little stressed? When we aren’t waxing lyrical about the This Works Pillow Spray, we are equally as vocal about the Stress Check range. The ultimate in self-care beauty, each product is formulated with a blend of lavendar, vetiver, ylang ylang, and camomile oils, creating a remedial effect upon application. This new skincare booster not only soothes the soul, but will supercharge skin. It's packed with nourishing ingredients to combat irritation and dryness: CBD calms, hyaluronic acid plumps, and squalane hydrates. Apply a few drops directly onto skin, or mix in with your favourite moisturiser.

Available from 18 January.

THE GLOW GETTER

Nothing delivers radiance quite like the iconic Guerlain Météorites Pearls, and now the lustre is even better. The formula has been enhanced with the added irridescence of a new pink holographic pearl. Sweep generously all over for a radiant glow, or apply to the tops of cheekbones for a sculpted effect. The pearls have a delicate palma violets scent too, which we can't get enough of.

THE MAKE-UP PRIMER

The OG pioneers of J-Beauty, Shiseido, are about to make your make-up even more flawless thanks to the new 'Soft Blurring Primer'. The feather-light, water-based primer is packed with mattifying peptides and reduces the appearance of pesky pores, whilst a light-diffusing powder evens skin tone. Simply apply before foundation. No filter needed, ever again.

THE SKIN BRIGHTENING CLEANSER

Fans of Sisley’s 'Phyto-Blanc Serum' – loved for its skin-illuminating, age-spot targeting, and complexion-smoothing properties – will be thrilled by this new three-step skincare routine, comprising a cleanser, toner, and moisturiser. We are particularly enarmoured with the creamy cleanser, which on application melts into a foam to eliminate pollution and purify skin, whilst delivering on that signature glow.
