Suitcase Series: Charlotte de Geyter of BERNADETTE

Charlotte de Geyter is one half of the mother-daughter design duo behind Belgian label, BERNADETTE.

Charlotte studied at Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts, whilst her mother, Bernadette, is a former buyer for Ralph Lauren. The pair have a great professional relationship: “there’s a lot of trust, and always wanting the best for each other,” Charlotte adds.

The inter-generational brand comprises timeless robes and figure-skimming dresses in saturated hues and bountiful floral designs. In Charlotte’s own words, “BERNADETTE is about optimism, standing out through its fresh colours and prints, feeling restful and inspired by nature. My signatures as a designer are my hand drawn prints, but also creating volumes and combining colours.” Next for BERNADETTE is a homeware launch. Dropping in March – ready for decadent outdoor dining (which we simply can’t wait for) – the line will sport the brand’s iconic floral motifs.

Equipped with one of her signature dresses (and fragrance from niche perfumer Maria Santa Novella) we delve into Charlotte de Geyter’s travel psyche.
