The CF Checklist: February

Our February calendar is shaping up to be punctuated by WFH, daily walks, and yet more Netflix binges, so dress accordingly….

Whether you’re looking to add to your roster of workwear appropriate pieces or optimistic SS21 dresses to wear later, we have you covered with our monthly shopping list…

THE NEW DENIM

Many of us haven’t even looked at our denim since entering Lockdown 3.0, thankfully, silhouettes this season cater to our need for comfort as well as style. It’s high time to reintroduce denim into your dressing repertoire with the 'Le Jane' jumpsuit from California-cool denim label, Frame. With a high-waist fit and thigh-skimming shape, the silhouette elongates legs to gazelle-like proportions. Side note: upon re-entry to the outside world, we will be pairing our denim with a platform heel.

THE CITY SNEAKER

Elevated city-ready sneakers are THE footwear of choice this spring. We are particularly enamoured with the Bally Malya leather sneaker from the 'Le Lift' line. Marrying style and function, the piéce de résistance is the ultra-lightweight sole which really puts a spring in your step. Rendered in white leather, with an interchangeable crystal embellished heel, this sneaker will seamlessly slip in with your existing wardrobe pieces.

THE SLEEK TRENCH

A trench coat is perfect for transeasonal dressing. We love the understated simplicity, and life-long wearability of this wardrobe classic. This Frankie Shop trench is a cut above the rest, presented in a cool oversized style which accentuates the cinching belt. It’s fashion-forward in cream patent: a welcome palette cleanser if, like me, your winter wardrobe has consisted of a melange of blacks and grey.

THE NEW BAG

Must-have designer handbags have skyrocketed in price, which is why we love when the most covetable bag of the moment comes in at an accessible price point – such is the case with the Coach Pillow Tabby 26. Much like the many brands that have recently turned to the archives, this is a reimagining of the 1970s classic silhouette rendered in an ultra-soft and strokeable leather. Available in candy pink, forest green, or classic muted hues, the only question that remains is which colour to choose?

THE STIRRUPED LEGGINGS

Strirruped leggings are the chic, influencer-approved wardrobe staple of choice this lockdown (you’ve probably noticed them on your daily Instagram scroll). A little equestrian, but with the trompe de l’oeil effect of elongating the legs, they are a smart alternative to the workout wear we've all been sporting. We’re pairing ours with our most sumptuous cashmere for effortless elegance.

THE KNITWEAR UPGRADE

Whilst we aren’t ready to break up with our tracksuits just yet, we are wanting to approach our WFH wardrobes with a little more finesse. Hayley Menzies is the purveyor of maximalist knitwear in happy-making designs. This tiger-print duster is the antidote to WFH dressing fatigue. As cosy as your dressing gown, but chic enough for the streets, it's the mood-boosting knit we'll happily be wearing non-stop from now on.

THE DAYTIME DIAMONDS

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, it’s the perfect excuse to treat yourself to a new piece of jewellery. Vashi is our go-to for unique modern designs and accessible price points. Yellow gold and pavé diamonds is our favourite way to wear diamonds by day. This Lovestrike ring can be worn alone, or stacked with other rings from the collection.

THE SPRING TEA DRESS

Ganni is the arbiter of must-have summer dresses and whilst summer parties feel like a distant memory, we are planning for those to come with the Ganni SS21 drop. We love this feminine smoky-grey silk midi with a minimalist floral design, and will be pairing ours with a platform sandal come spring to channel Scandi girl cool.

THE ELEVATED WHITE SHIRT

The trick to building a timeless capsule wardrobe? Acquiring elevated everyday essentials we will never fall out of love with. For example, the classic white shirt, which is very Carolyn Besette Kennedy. Instanbul-based brand, Piece Of White, is one of my favourites for timeless white shirts. With a high neck and oversized sleeves, this shirt has instant polish and a touch of drama.

THE PUFFER

Whilst we are waiting with bated breath for travel restrictions to lift, it's the perfect time to prepare, with a new ski jacket.  Perfect Moment is the name on fashion insiders’ lips for the most fashion-forward skiwear. This Aspen striped jacket comes in many iterations but we love the red and navy – the brand’s signature colour way. With the current cold snap, who says we have to wait until we’re in Courchevel?! We’ll be donning our statement puffer to enliven our daily walks.

THE SLIPPERS

Our newfound love for slippers continues thanks to Olivia Morris At Home. We love these house slippers, available in myriad designs from lush velvet to chintzy florals for a dose of indoor glamour. These will have to be prised off our feet come spring…
