Positioned at the epicentre of London’s international rail hub, the Brutalist build is an easy spot (made even more identifiable thanks to its cherry-hued, pill-shaped external lift).
Inside, expect Seventies-style details and vibrant carpets; in short, the hotel’s interiors (designed by Shawn Hausman Design) are probably best described as ‘trippy’. In the bedrooms, it’s a similar story – though less fuss, more… plush. The winner will be checking in to a Junior Suite Terrace, complete with outdoor terrace and bathtub overlooking St. Pancras Station.
In addition to breakfast (on both mornings), a dinner for two at Double Standard, the ground-floor restaurant and bar, is also included in your prize. May we recommend our go-to order: ‘The Burger’ served with blue cheese and bacon, plus a side order of fries – oh, and fried chicken bites… and the mac ‘n cheese. (Just make sure to leave both room and time to explore the burgeoning foodie quarter moments away – head to Coal Drops Yard and neighbouring Granary Square for lip-smacking fare.
