This Week CF Loves: 15.03.21

This week – as the rain persists in parts of the UK – we’re falling back in love with the great indoors (what choice do we have?)

Our survival kit includes: Art-Deco inspired pyjamas from Claridge’s, decadent sea salt dark chocolate from Rococo Chocolates, and Beata Heuman’s newly released book, Every Room Should Sing. (Plus, there’s also the growing promise of a summer in Greece to see us through this brief drizzly patch).

READ THIS Beata Heuman: Every Room Should Sing, Rizzoli

Swedish-born, London-based interior designer Beata Heuman founded her eponymous studio in 2013 after working for Nicky Haslam for nine years. Since then, Beata’s characterful work has propelled her profile and established her as one of today’s most in-demand creatives. Now, in her first book, Beata Heuman: Every Room Should Sing, Heuman shares her innovative approach to decor with design-enthusiasts the world over. A firm believer that a home should be both “serious and silly at once,” readers can expect a tome filled with cheerful pages, as impacting and theatrical as Heuman’s trademark designs. Organised according to design principle, each chapter encourages a humanist approach and offers fresh ways to think about decorating a home, making ordinary details extraordinary, and forging a truly unique space. Our enthusiasm for DIY is rallying once more.

SLEEP IN THESE Limited-Edition Pyjamas, Claridge's

We’re putting our hotel robes and slippers obsession on ice (for now). These days, we’re coveting bespoke pyjamas. Catering to our latest fancy, natty Claridge’s – our favourite Art Deco London hotel – have launched their first collection of PJs, inspired by the Golden-Age motifs and details observed throughout the hotel. Designed in collaboration with long-time Claridge’s guest and friend, Rebecca Marks, Creative Director of Green Wolf Studio, the limited-edition loungewear is available in the hotel’s signature jade green or in soft white, finished with mother of pearl buttons and contrasting piping trim across the collar, cuffs, and top pocket. A subtle fan pattern conjures up the heady glamour of the 1920s, while the hotel’s historic crest adds a further peppering of pomp to proceedings. We’re wearing ours at home to mimic weekends in one of our best-loved hotels until the foyer doors swing open once more.

BOOK THIS The Rooster, Antiparos

Greece has confirmed it will welcome British tourists back into the country again this summer, from mid-May. Secure(ish) in that knowledge, we’re busily (and optimistically) planning our next Grecian getaway. High on our list of must-book hotels: The Rooster. Opening 1 June, the resort is located on the under-the-radar Greek island of Antiparos (neighbouring pleasing Paros). Tucked away between the sandy, unspoilt beaches of the Aegean coastline and the dramatic landscape of the Cyclades, The Rooster offers  five-star seclusion. Comprising of 17 individual suites, villas, and houses of differing size, this is a place to go off-grid and embrace the island’s slow-living lifestyle.

WEAR THESE Nereo Trousers, Weekend Max Mara

It’s time to let loose – read: we’re pledging to incorporate wide-leg pants into our transitional spring/summer wardrobes. A wide-leg trouser makes any look feel polished, without exerting too much energy when it comes to outfit planning. For a preppy springtime look, we love the clean construction of these ivory Nereo trousers (which ‘nod to Weekend Max Mara’s founding focus on refined off-duty staples’). We envision these becoming another closet workhorse of ours – stylish with a high-rise waist, but relaxed enough to wear anytime (thanks to their cotton canvas construction and patch pockets) – seeing us through to summer 2021. *Adds to cart.

DEVOUR THIS Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Egg, Rococo Chocolates

We’ve found that the best way to get through Lent is to focus on all of the marvellous, chocolatey treats we’re going to consume come 4 April 2021. Longing for the day we can devour our favourite chocolate in large chunks, we’re trying to pace ourselves and take the time to select one egg that most appeals to our tastebuds. Serious chocolatiers that we are, we’re opting for a rich, dark chocolate egg – this one is perfectly balanced with a touch of Anglesey sea salt. Crack open the shell to discover a bag full of cocoa-dusted salted caramel truffles; additional chocolate supplies are always a welcomed surprise. So, if the Easter bunny wants to up their egg game, might we suggest they pre-order from Rococo Chocolates this year?
