This Week CF Loves: 05.04.2021

This week, we’re relishing the chance to enjoy seaside delights (without ever having to leave London).

Between Assouline’s new tome, Hamptons Private, and The Berkeley Beach Huts (a wonderfully retro summertime pop-up serving gourmet fish ‘n chips amongst other foodie delights) we’re feeling positively nautical. And packed in our beach basket… NARS’ Euphoria Face Dew, a sweet Isabel Marant pastel-hued clutch, and other similarly fabulous finds.

For this week’s hotlist in full, scroll on…

READ THIS Hamptons Private, Assouline

As the quintessential summer haunt for New York’s glitterati, The Hamptons is synonymous with luxury. Once a haven for the Fords to the Vanderbilts of the world, today, this rolling stretch of sandy dunes and grandiose estates is the second home to Jay-Z and Beyoncé, Madonna, Martha Stewart and the likes. Hamptons Private offers a peep over the locale’s picket fences, exposing the fabulous lives of the upper echelon – from poolside soirées Sag Harbour to polo matches in Bridgehampton. Peel through the dream-inducing pages of Assouline’s latest tome, before promptly googling holiday rentals in the area.

BOOK THIS The Berkeley Beach Huts

The spirit of the Great British seaside comes to Belgravia, courtesy of The Berkeley (and their joyful beach huts). On Monday 12 April The Berkeley Beach Huts will be popping up on Wilton Place (so we’re flagging the opening early to give our readers a fighting chance to nab a booking). Inspired by Britain’s most iconic and foodie seafronts including Whitstable, Southwold, and Padstow, the five retro beach huts will sit proudly centre stage, alongside extended terraced dining. Feast on seaside fare – think fish ‘n chips with a five-star twist, followed by a ‘Gourmet 99’ (a riff on a traditional soft-serve vanilla ice-cream cone, accompanied by an array of indulgent flakes and toppings) – and keep tabs on how many cocktails you clink (to avoid the feeling of sea legs on departure).

TRY THIS Euphoria Face Dew, NARS

This multi-purpose newbie has quickly become a a vanity case go-to. NARS’ new Face Dew is a highlighter and blusher combo that provides the skin unparalleled levels of dew and glow, without any sparkle (*sighs with relief*). The liquid luminizer creates the appearance of healthy, hydrated skin and, though its casing measures in at a compact 15ml, it’s worth noting that a little goes a long way. To use, dispense a small amount onto the back of your hand and, in a stippling motion, apply to high points of the face – cheekbones, bridge of the nose and so on. Wear on bare skin if resting poolside, or place over makeup for an enhanced dinnertime look.

WATCH THIS Nose, Apple TV

A new documentary about Dior perfumer-creator François Demachy (directed by Clément Beauvais and Arthur de Kersauson) has reached our home screens. The beautifully shot doc follows Demachy around the world – spanning two years and 14 countries – as he visits remote locations and impossibly beautiful places in his quest to find the perfect flowers for his new creations. Fragrance lovers will go wild for this transportive watch – it’s almost as good as being in those Italian lemon groves and Indonesian patchouli plantations IRL.

SHOP THIS Luz Leather-Trimmed Tweed Clutch, Isabel Marant

Made in Italy from rainbow-hued tweed, Isabel Marant’s ‘Luz’ clutch feels fun, yet sophisticated. Playing nicely with other patterns, it goes well with both colourful and neutral outfits. Beyond its squared-off slouchy profile – which can accommodate all the usual occupants (phone, keys, lipstick, cash, snacks etc) – the tan leather trims at the gathered top adds a touch of style. Stamped with the Isabel Marant moniker in gold letters, it’s perfectly sized for tucking under your arm.
