This Week CF Loves: 26.04.2021

You’re the maker of your own destiny this summer – which means it’s time to take the wheel (and no, we haven’t included a swish new automotive in this week’s roundup).

Whether the coming months are filled with matchimalist dinner parties a la Summerill & Bishop, or a string of UK camping trips spanning the breadth of the country, this week’s hotlist is certain to spark some summertime inspiration.

DINE WITH THIS La DoubleJ X Ladurée

Parisian pâtisserie, Ladurée, and Italian lifestyle brand, La DoubleJ, have joined forces to create the sweetest of homeware collaborations. The exclusive 12-piece collection will feature everything from printed macaroon boxes to teapots and dessert plates crafted from fine porcelain made in Italy. The perfect accompaniment to al-fresco tea parties and bountiful springtime feasts, this collection offers a stylish change of pace from more serious china.

DRINK THIS Babylonstoren Mourvèdre Rosé

Nothing says summer quite like rosé at golden hour. We’re toasting to sunshine-filled days and brighter evenings with a bottle of Mourvèdre Rosé from Babylonstoren located in South Africa’s Cape Winelands. Its 2021 vintage is a dry and elegant wine that embodies flowers, gardens, and the great outdoors – making it an ideal fit as the official rosé of this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show. With floral notes of rose petals and creamy flavours of rhubarb, evoking the sun-kissed gardens of Babylonstoren, it’s our wine of choice for foreseeable.

SHOP THIS Stripe Collection, Summerill & Bishop

Summerill & Bishop’s newly launched ‘Stripe’ collection is an ode to the Tuscan coast. Designed in Summerill & Bishop’s Notting Hill studio in beautiful Italian linen, the collection was inspired by dreams of a Mediterranean escape. We love this tablecloth’s go-with-everything pattern, which makes for effortless mixing and matching with other linens and ceramics – it’s the answer to any summer tablescape.

WEAR THIS RODARTE, Floral-Print Silk-Satin Twill Top

For a glamorous option for dressing up or down, look to this pyjama-inspired green and white top from Rodarte. Rendered in silk-satin twill and crafted in the US, the fit is relaxed complete with a single chest patch pocket and wide cuffs. Finished with black graphic piping to contrast against the chic-cum-chintzy floral pattern, keeps things edgy. Add the matching pyjama pants for lounging around, or your favourite slim black-leather trousers for nights out.

BOOK THIS Camp Quaives, Canterbury

For a back-to-nature break this summer, try Camp Quaives. Located in the Kent countryside, it’s close enough to London for a last-minute getaway, should the mood strike. Plotted on an estate once owned by Fleetwood Mac’s Christine McVie, the 20 boutique bell tents take prime position in the ‘garden of England’. With an emphasis on local produce, the bar is well stocked with a selection of wines from nearby vineyards and the best locally brewed beers (best enjoyed by the fire pit come nightfall). By day, play tennis, sunbathe, or tuck into a freshly prepared picnic… go at whatever pace you feel. Opening 28 May, bookings are based on a two-night minimum stay.
