In our endeavours to shop more consciously, we’ve rounded up a selection of industry names – from Heist to Kjaer Weis – who are creating beautiful things in beautiful, and more sustainable ways.
SHOP THIS Buchanan Studio, The Studio Chair
Buchanan Studio’s ‘Studio Chair’ is utterly scrumptious. The chair is the creative design studio’s first foray into product, and what a debut it is. 70s in style, the decade’s aesthetic was a key inspiration for the brand – the end result is a versatile piece (we already have visualised it in many rooms across our home) that is both traditional and modern. Screen printed in England, the bold stripes sweep across authentic Belgian linen (sourced from a sustainable mill) with gusto. Sustainable, stylish, and perfectly squishy; it ticks all the boxes.
WEAR THIS Heist Studios, The Eco Lace Collection
It’s time to update our lingerie drawer, and Heist’s new Eco Lace range – made from recycled materials – is a good place to start. With underwear designed from 100% recycled and recyclable lace and sheer eco-mesh, the line’s allure goes beyond its eco credentials – the range looks seriously swish. Of all the pieces available, it’s the Eco Lace Body that caught our eye first. A great foundation piece for your wardrobe, we love it’s scoop neck and back. Made with Q-Nova, a recycled fibre sourced from an Italian yarn supplier, the piece is designed to hug and enhance the contours of your body to create a natural silhouette. DRINK THIS Kiss The Hippo
Coffee lovers that we are, we naturally jumped for joy (pre-morning espresso, even) when we discovered that Kiss the Hippo coffee was now entirely carbon negative. We then let out a squeal when we noted their newly launched pod flavours (please understand, we’re big coffee fans). There’s the Organic House Blend, which is sweet and robust with notes of chocolate, caramel, and red berries; there’s the richer Organic Classic Blend that brings in tastes of molasses and almond; and finally (easing up on the caffeine at this stage) there’s Organic Decaf – the toffee/brazil nut blend is scrumptious. Unable to settle on just one flavour, we’re ordering the whole plastic-free and planet-friendly bunch.
TRY THIS Bolt Beauty, Vitamin A Game
When it comes to hero products, Bolt Beauty’s Vitamin A Game is up there with the best. A perfectly portioned retinol – it’s great for those starting off with retinol treatments or those prone to reactions – this product promises results: namely brighter, firmer, and smoother skin, as well as reduced fine lines and pigmentation. Eco-friendly, travel-friendly, cruelty free, and vegan-friendly, each single-dose formula is encased in a biodegradable, seaweed shell. After use, simply pop it into the compost bin or dissolve in boiling water. Clever.
