The Beauty Edit

CF Editors Pick Their Favourite Beauty Products This Month

Beauty products drop at a dizzying rate, but there’s no need to feel overwhelmed. At CF we have done the hard work for you: curating an edit of the products dropping in June to really get excited about.

Whether you’re in need of a new home scent, a dazzling new eyeshadow palette, or multi-tasking cleanser, here are the best beauty treats dropping this month.

THE CANDLE

Just seeing the words 'new launch' and 'Le Labo' in the same sentence fills me with excitement. Happily, the new Encens 9 candle more than matches my expectations. Always a sign of an excellent candle, the smokey scent fills the room, even before it’s lit. The heavier notes of incense, sandalwood, and patchouli have us almost longing for autumn nights, but the freshness of musk and amber makes it perfect for now.

THE HYDRATION KIT

We are more than a little bit in love with doctor-led beauty brands, namely, for their ability to replicate in-clinic results from the comfort of home. MZ Skin’s new five day Hydra-Boost delivers the kind of results one would expect from an expensive facial. The 10 ampoules (to be used morning and night) are a magical concoction of hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, and collagen: a triple threat against stressed, lack-lustre, and dehydrated complexions. After the final application, skin is strokeably soft, with a restored brightness you can't help but admire.

THE EYE PALETTE

Just when we thought we couldn't possibly need another eyeshadow palette, Nars have released their Summer Solstice compact, and it really is a sight to behold. The sleek case comprises nine limited-edition shades in holiday-ready peaches, bronzes, berry tones, and golds. As ever, the velvety formulas are highly pigmented with serious staying power.

THE TANNING DROPS

These nifty drops build a wonderful natural golden tan, you’d never think came out of a bottle. The texture is silky and fast-absorbing, supercharged by vitamin C for antioxidant benefits and a supreme glow. As with all products in the C+C range, there's a lovely zesty scent which makes application so enjoyable.

THE EYE MASKS

I am a huge advocate of an under-eye mask, and constantly have a stash in my fridge to de-puff after a particularly disturbed night’s sleep. These ones by Jillian Dempsey are laced with Bioecolia (a balancing prebiotic for next level hydration), hyaluronic acid to plump, and almond oil to gently sooth. Expect nourished and revived eyes in no time.

THE CLEANSER

If your skin is suddenly peppered with new blemishes, or feels a little rougher than you’d like, it’s a good indication to switch up your cleanser. May we suggest the new Gentle Buffing Gelee from Omorovicza. AHAs gently exfoliate skin, red algae offers punchy antioxidant protection, hyaluronic acid plumps, whilst the Omorovicza Healing Concentrate leaves skin noticeably firmer. To top it all off, the zesty grapefruit and orange scent adds a lovely multi-sensory element to proceedings.

THE DIFFUSER

Fans of the earthy, green notes of fig leaf will adore this new diffuser from Jo Loves, inspired by Jo’s own trips to sun-drenched Italy. The addition of amber and cassis adds a lovely warm quality to the fragrance, which you won't get tired of sniffing. The ceramic vessel is also rather smart. Mine is currently popped in my bathroom, awaiting compliments from visiting guests.

THE FACE MASK

I love a hydrating face mask for a fast-track to dewy, glowing skin and the latest drop from ESPA is ticking a lot of boxes. As beneficial as your morning green smoothie, this rich cooling mask is packed with lots of skin-loving ingredients like electrolytes, guarana, spirulina, and the wondrous ESPA vital nutrient minerals complex. Add it to your Sunday night pampering routine now.

THE FRAGRANCE

D.S & Durga’s fragrances are inherently transporting, and the New York indie perfumer's latest scent has bottled the essence of the Carribean. The scent is hypnotic with notes of sour orange, rhum, cane, and, of course, a vetyver base. Close your eyes and you can just about imagine yourself on the beach, rum cocktail in hand.

THE ORAL HYGIENE

Gut health is one thing, but ever stop to think about oral health? Back to the French doing beauty so well, we talk French skin microbiome specialist Gallinée who has launched a toothpaste and oral care supplement. Bringing Gallinée’s biotic brilliance to your teeth-cleaning ritual, this highly effective formula keeps your teeth safe and healthy. It's 95% natural, vegan and cruelty-free formula, housed in a tube made from 100% biodegradable sugar cane and it is minty fresh indeed.
