The Beauty Edit

CF Editors Pick Their Favourite Beauty Products This Month

Beauty products drop at a dizzying rate, but there’s no need to feel overwhelmed. At CF we have done the hard work for you: curating an edit of the products dropping in July to really get excited about.

Whether you have your eye on a swish new scent, a sleek compact to slip into your impractical new party clutch, or are suffering from stressed city skin (a side effect of the slow return back to the office), we’ve got you covered…

THE FRAGRANCE

As we enter the height of summer, a bright new fragrance is top of our beauty agenda. This new addition to the Twilly d'Hermès family is just as radiant as fans of the original will expect. The powdery softness of peony is paired with the sweetness of candied ginger, and the woody freshness of cedar. Spritz liberally to leave a trail of sunshine in your wake.

THE LIMITED EDITION

The ultimate olfactive icon, Chanel N°5, turns 100 this year. To celebrate this centenary, Chanel has revealed 17 limited-edition products as part of the Chanel Factory 5 collection, all centred around the signature scent. We are coveting this luscious body oil, which naturally smells heavenly, and enrobes skin and hair in eight hours of silky hydration. Moisturising has never felt less like a chore…

THE COMPLEXION MULTITASKER

LA's favourite Make-Up Artist – Monika Blunder – has decades of red carpet and editorial experience; working on the faces of some of our favourite British beauties, from Rosie-Huntington Whiteley, to Emilia Clarke. Suffice to say, we were more than a little excited to learn about her inaugural beauty line. Blunder Cover doesn't disappoint: the multitasker sits between a foundation, concealer, and contour balm. Brimming with arnica to reduce redness, aloe to hydrate and plump, and edelweiss to hydrate, it is wonderfully buildable when applied with the soft-hairred brush, leaving skin dewy. A true make-up bag hero in the making.

THE FACE MASK

If enlarged pores are your biggest skin bugbear – or perhaps you want noticeably smoother, luminous skin ahead of a big event – this efficacious mask should be your new bathroom stalwart. Simply pop onto skin for 10 minutes and let the zingy papaya enzymes brighten skin, whilst pink clay and coffee sweep away blocked blackheads and excess oils. The result? Skin so clean it practically squeaks.

THE SHAMPOO

If you want the glossiest, softest hair, you need to treat your scalp too, which is why we are a little bit in love with Rahua's Scalp Exfoliating Shampoo. The gentle plant-powered scrub works hard to purify the scalp, whilst a cocktail of oils nourish hair from root to tip, resulting in swish-worthy hair. And did we mention it smells divine? This is thanks to star anise, mango and passionfruit. Heaven 'scent'.

THE COMPACT

You may have bought a very chic, if highly impractical, micro bag to usher back your social life, and are now wondering what wizardry is required to fit in all your essentials. Enter this super-sleek compact from Bobbi Brown: a velvety combination of matte and shimmery eyeshadows, bronzer and blush, as well as miniature mascara and lip gloss for on-the-go top-ups. Problem solved.

THE TRAVEL KIT

Founder of SEED TO SKIN, Jeanette Thottrup, and Editor-In-Chief of Cabana, Martina Mondadori, share a combined appreciation of beautifully crafted objects. Said appreciation led to this rather marvellous collaboration – a beautiful vanity bag in an iconic Cabana print houses four of the most-cherished SEED TO SKIN products, straight from the farms of Tuscany to your bathroom. The dinky bottles are perfect for stowing in your weekend bag for your next trip – don't be surprised if you return with better skin than you left with.

THE ESSENTIAL OIL

Bring the feeling of walking through a lush, green forest into your home with this new essential oil, bursting with the clarifying scent of fir. Suspend a few drops in milk for a stress-relieving elixir, or pop into a diffuser to clear sinuses and soothe.

THE TONER

Hotfoot it to Harrods to visit the impressive new ELEMIS boutique: offering whizzy skin consultations, a curated edit of bestselling products, as well as exclusive launches such as the Dynamic Resurfacing Skin Smoothing Essence. Described as "liquid luminosity in a bottle", this lightweight milky essence is laced with birch sap and a cocktail of acids to smooth, brighten, and plump, for a post-facial worthy glow.

THE SERUM

I wax lyrical about my love of serums to address a multitude of skin concerns, so newly launched Elixiseri – comprising five brilliant serums – has got me very excited indeed. They all bolster the skin's microbiome, and combine plant stem cells and Swiss light water to promote cell regeneration. My serum of choice is Smooth Player, which makes me look like I've just returned from a restful spa weekend. The texture so wondrously silky and deeply hydrating, I can forgo my moisturiser on those warmer days when I want to keep things light. After two weeks of use my skin is noticably plumper and softer. Yes, even my boyfriend noticed.
