The CF Guide To Holiday-Ready Jewellery

A veritable array of Baroque pearls, beads, and enamel are the very definition of holiday-ready jewellery.

What is it about being on holiday that makes your jewellery look so much better? Perhaps it’s the devil-may-care attitude that comes from relinquishing the daily grind, or maybe it’s the sun-dappled lighting that makes gemstones sparkle that little brighter?

From cheery, childlike beads, to beachy Baroque pearls, and colourful enamel, these are the joy-inducing jewellery pieces to experiment with on your next adventure.

BY ALONA

London-based jeweller, By Alona, is every Fashion Editor's best-kept secret. The daughter of a fine jeweller, Alona draws inspiration from a childhood surrounded by one-of-a-kind pieces her father thought too precious to sell, as well as her Middle Eastern and European heritage. This modern talisman necklace is inspired by the calm after a storm, where water droplets reflect sunlight in a riot of colour.

TIMELESS PEARLY

Timeless Pearly's aesthetic is romantic yet playful. Think chunky chains, semi-precious stones, and (you guessed correctly) pearls aplenty. Pieces are handmade in Paris, resembling vintage trinkets with a modern edge. These hoops are adorned with a mismatched cluster of black pearls and a statement Baroque pearl, so your ear lobes will command all the attention.

FRY POWERS

Enamel is very much the jewellery trend of SS21, and may well be overtaking pearls as our holiday jewellery of choice. Fry Powers launched in 2018, drawing inspiration from Modernism and Pop Art with its mood-boosting, rainbow-hued enamel pieces. We love this ring collection: wear just a couple, or all five for a maximalist ring stack.

MATHE JEWELLERY

Paying homage to Founder Mathe Fotini's childhood spent on the beaches of Crete, Mathe jewellery comprises affordable, handmade pieces. The line has a seaside-inspired aesthetic; curate the perfect jewellery stack with an array of colourful beads and pearls. This necklace – with a statement gold chain and dripping with freshwater pearls – is an instant outfit enlivener.

CAROLINA BUCCI

We are unapologetically obsessed with Carolina Bucci's jewellery. We're particularly smitten with her friendship bracelet inspired Forte Beads, which are candy-like in design. Crafted from hardstone and precious stones, they can be arranged as you wish for an entirely unique piece. Don't miss the alphabet charms – boasting Bucci's signature Florentine-finish technique – for an extra personal touch.

APPLES & FIGS

Drawing influence from the Garden of Eden, APPLES & FIGS' designs are opulent in their depiction of nature. We love these sculptural earrings melded from gold-plated silver and cascading with turquoise. We'll be wearing ours with a monochrome ensemble to make the gemstones truly pop.

JENNIFER BEHR

New York-based designer, Jennifer Behr was at the forefront of the statement Alice band trend when she launched her romantic accessories brand in 2005. She later founded her ultra-feminine jewellery line, which boasts a vintage sensibility. This pleasingly lightweight charm bracelet will make the prettiest twinkling sound as it rests pride of place on your wrist. No other accessories required.

ROXANNE FIRST

Roxanne First's eponymous jewellery brand is the very definition of effortless, cool-girl jewellery. Her obsession with jewellery was passed on from her Italian family’s penchant for collecting and layering unique pieces – a family tradition which lends itself to the stackable nature of her delicate creations. Luxe yet tongue-in-cheek, Roxanne uses colourful sapphires in quirky designs, like this sapphire and mother-of-pearl necklace. It will pair perfectly with this summer's must-have dad shirt.

ANISSA KERMICHE

Beyond her 'Love Handles' vases and 'Jugs' jugs, Anissa Kermiche's sculptural jewellery is just as worthy of some Instagram air time, and equally celebratory of the female form too. Her jewellery is designed to resemble wearable art, like this chain and irregular pearl anklet – the unofficial accessory of SS21.

MEJURI

Toronto-based Mejuri is very much the fine jewellery brand of the moment. The brand is best known for its everyday gold vermeil basics – from perfect hoops to delicate stacking rings. However, there are also statement pieces in the fold, ripe for your holiday wardrobe. This gold vermeil, prasiolite, and green enamel ring sings of far-flung escapes.
