As we reach the end of a rather sparse summer (sob) and enter a new season, it’s a good time to consider the changing needs of your skin. One key switch-up you should consider is your moisturiser. As someone with sensitive skin – that is prone to dehydration – a gel-based moisturiser is my formula of choice. The Avène Aqua-Gel is one I keep on hand at all times. Laden with the brand’s famous thermal spring water, it's notoriously kind to all skin types, particularly those prone to reactivity. The gel turns into a watery base upon contact with skin, providing an instant surge of moisture, drying to a refreshing finish that sits comfortably on skin all day long. Always a fan of a multi-tasking product, by night – when applied as a thick layer –, the clever texture acts as a sleep mask, rendering skin plump and bouncy by morning. For just £20 this is a bathroom-cabinet stalwart.
