CF Editors Pick Their Favourite Beauty Products This Month

Beauty products drop at a dizzying rate, but there’s no need to feel overwhelmed. At CF we have done the hard work for you: curating an edit of the products dropping in September to really get excited about.

From the supermodel-approved beauty launch, to the must-have SPF wardrobe, these are the products that have piqued our Beauty Editor’s interest this month.

THE NIGHT MOISTURISER

Nordic skincare brand Lumene has reimagined their already popular overnight cream, and now it’s even more efficacious. Richly decadent but lightweight, it’s laced with Nordic superwaters (to intensely plump), as well as postbiotic fermented Nordic oat to balance the skin’s microbiome and ensure maximum hydration. You’ll awake to juicy, smooth skin. What’s not to love?

THE FRAGRANCE

Fans of Killian Hennessy's fragrances know he always delivers the unexpected. Such is the case with his new addition to the The Liquors collection, paying homage to his heritage as part of the Hennessy alcohol dynasty. 'Apple Brandy on the Rocks' is a suprisingly moreish combination of apple, bergamot, and cedarwood. The scent is a riotous interpretation of the New York party scene: think all the hedonistic fun, without even a whisper of a hangover.

Available from 15 September.

THE SPF WARDROBE

Now is the time to find your SPF BFF, thanks to Ultra Violette. If you aren’t yet well versed in the wonders of Ultra Violette's broad-spectrum SPFs, this neon-hued set of miniatures is the perfect introduction to the brand. Comprising four hero formulas – Queen, Supreme, Lean, and Clean Screen – there is a formula to suit all preferences: whether you prefer gels or creams, or plan to wear your SPF under make-up or alone.

THE FACE MASK

Charlotte Tilbury’s new dry sheet mask is inspired by an in-salon cryotherapy session to lift, firm, and revitalise skin in just 10 minutes. Simply pop this silicone mask in the freezer half an hour before use: at first it’s bracing, but well worth it to reap the rewards of firmer skin, a de-puffed visage, as well as diminished fine lines and dark circles. The addition of cooling beads to target acupressure points across the brows, cheekbones, and brows, is an added bonus – making for a superlative massage.

THE SERUM

Is skin discolouration your biggest skin bugbear? This new, high-performance serum from Paula’s Choice is brimming with a powerhouse of tranexamic acid, niacinamide, and bakuchiol, offering a two-pronged attack. It works hard to fade dark spots, improve overall skin tone, and prevent further skin damage.

THE PRIMER

Cut your morning make-up routine down with this multitasking base from Stila. This wonder balm is a worthy replacement for your heavy-duty foundation, offering semi-sheer coverage that blurs imperfections, offers SPF30 protection, illuminates, and mollifies redness, for a ‘your skin but better’ effect. The result? An ageless, well-rested appearance.

THE FACE MIST

Alongside a rather spectacular new facial at Bamford Wellness Spa, Bamford has just released a suitably impressive skincare range centred around active ingredients derived from nature. The Hyaluronic Glow Mist is my hero product from the range. With vitamin C from kakudu plum, alongside hemp and orange hydrolats, a light spritz of this glow-inducing mist leaves skin glowing, without even a hint of tightness – plus it smells like a dream. This is a true deskside, or travel-bag stalwart.

THE LIPSTICK

The best things in life come in a Chanel tube, and there’s a lot to love about the cult-worthy Rouge Allure Lacque: a liquid lipstick, with a satin shine finish. Firstly, this long-lasting formula sit comfortably on lips for 12 hours. It’s also oh-so easy to apply the highly-pigmented gloss with precision thanks to the ergonomic paddle brush. Now we love it even more with six new highly-pigmented hues. Beige Confidentiel is our favourite: a dusky pink that is as alluring for day and night.

THE SOAP

This eco-luxury Swedish fragrance brand has bottled the first moments of autumn into a nourishing hand and body wash. Think crisp, sunny days, log fires, and freshly harvested fruits, represented by a harmony of pomelo, lavender, vetiver, and pink praline. Happily, the woody and aromatic scent lingers on the skin long after you wash your hands.

THE HOT NEW LAUNCH

Ever since supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley founded her beauty platform, Rose Inc, we’ve been waiting with baited breath for a beauty line to follow. This week, our prayers were answered with her debut collection of skin-centric makeup essentials. My favourite is a multi-purpose cream for cheeks and lips that simply melts into skin and is wonderfully buildable to flush cheeks with a delicate rosy hue.
