'Til The Last Drop #15

Welcome to ‘Til The Last Drop: a bi-monthly column in which I, CF Beauty Editor, Olivia Bennett, share my review of a favourite cult product that I (truly) use to the last drop. This week’s featured product is Christoph Robin’s Cleansing Volumising Paste.

I’m messaged by friends and family, at all hours of the day, with recommendation requests for everything from “the budget gel moisturiser that works with combination skin” to “the hard-hitting eye cream that will make Botox a last resort”, and queries on “whether X, Y, and Z from the current trending brand are REALLY worth the hype”.

Such incessant inquiries sparked this column, where I’ll cover best-selling names alongside under-the-radar brands to note. You’ll hear about blow-the-budget products that live up to their hefty price tag and the purse-friendly steals which I unashamedly turn to time and again.

No need to text me, I’ll be sharing all my intel with you right here every other week. Tune in.

THE VOLUME-BOOSTING SHAMPOO

I expect a lot from my shampoo: it needs to deliver both pumped-up volume and sleek shine, all whilst ensuring hair is super clean so I can leave longer between washes. After discovering the innovative Cleansing Volumising Paste from French hair supremo, Christoph Robin, I am fully converted. The dense viscous texture turns into a light foam when massaged through wet hair. Packed with Moroccan volcanic clay and exfoliating sugar crystals, it invigorates the scalp, lifting hair from the roots to leave hair so clean it practically squeaks. The delicate rose scent is rather lovely too, lingering on hair long after your blow-dry. The final result? Hair that feels denser, bouncier, and deliciously soft.

CF Top Tip: allow the paste to rest for a couple of minutes before rinsing – just like your favourite hair mask – to intensify results.
