The CF Checklist: October

It’s time to plan your sartorial calendar, aided by your monthly dose of The CF Checklist.

From hot collaborations to the party-ready heels on every fashion insider’s wish list this is what is on CF’s Fashion Editor’s radar this month…

THE SHIRT

Savile Row women’s tailor The Deck and Jermyn Street bespoke shirtmaker Turnbull & Asser have joined forces on a limited-edition collection of silk women's shirts with exceptional detail inspired by classic menswear. The Traditionalist is the perfect wardrobe basic, whilst The Romantic – bedecked with ruffles – is beautifully feminine and refined. Dressed up or dressed down, it will work hard for your wardrobe.

THE SQUISHY TOTE

The AllSaints AW accessories collection is particularly strong and this tactile squishy leather tote is top of my list for a work bag upgrade. Roomy enough for your daily essentials – and then some – it looks far more luxe than its price tag suggests too.

THE LUXE LOUNGEWEAR

Elevate your athleisure wardrobe with this unexpected collaboration between The Ritz Paris and LA-cool denim brand, FRAME. The 22-piece merchandise collection comprises clothing and accessories, sporting the hotel’s iconic logo on sweaters, baseball hats, and more. Preppy personified.

THE PARTY SHOES

Tbilisi-based brand Mach&Mach has been causing a stir on Instagram for the past year, and if you've been flirting with investing in a pair of their rhinestone frosted heels, it's a good time to take the plunge – party season is on the horizon. Whether paired with denim, or with a frothy mini dresses, these shoes seriously command attention.

THE INFLUENCER COLLAB

Fans of Pernille Teisbaek's effortless Scandi style will want to snap up her entire collaboration with Spanish label, Mango. The 20-strong collection comprises a simply stylish wardrobe – from silk slips to smart coats – emblematic of Pernille's signature look. The Tuxedo-style jackets are particularly covetable. The only question that remains is: black or cream?

THE CO-ORD

Mini skirts are firmly back on the dressing agenda for AW21, and if you need any convincing, this delicious monochrome iteration offers ample persuasion. Pair with a cashmere polo neck or, for full-on Parisian elegance, the matching jacket makes for a delightful co-ord.

THE SLIT TROUSERS

The micro-trend that's piqued my interest this month is split-hem trousers. Both high-end and high-street labels are stocked with the versatile trouser, suited to both work and play. We're looking to COS for a super affordable and flattering version with pleated seams and an elastic waistand for a sleek silhouette.

THE DISCO BAG

With its delicate chain shoulder strap and elegant gold hardware, the Chanel Classic Handbag is eternally chic. This new checkerboard iteration is the perfect addition to a monotone ensemble, and will incite more than a few wistful glances of admiration.

THE AUTUMN COAT

October can serve up all sorts of dressing conundrums, with changeable temperatures throwing getting ready into discord. This KITRI jacket solves your outerwear concerns. Slightly oversized with a relaxed fit, it can easily be layered upon chunkier knits and the playful palette means it will work for myriad outfits too.

THE WATCH

Responding to their customer's increasing desire for 'forever' pieces, NET-A-PORTER's watches and jewellery category has been expanding recently, and the latest Watches and Wonders drop is as mesmerising as can be, delighting even the most discerning of horologists. Boasting a distinct neo-vintage design, the Cartier Tank Louis watch is both statement-making and classic with a rich merlot alligator strap and gold-tone watch face.

THE PERFECT CHUNKY BOOTS

Chunky boots received the high-fashion tick of approval a few seasons back and if you are yet to invest, it's high time to get on board with the footwear trend. Marrying fashion and functionality, these boots go with myriad wardrobe options, and are simply made for stomping the pavements. The good news is that the high street is awash with affordable luxe-looking options such as this pair from Kurt Geiger London. A pleasingly chunky lugsole and a sleek fit around the calf make for the perfect silhouette, and the elastic panels make them easy to pull on or off. However, these won't be leaving our feet all autumn…
