'Til The Last Drop #16

Welcome to ‘Til The Last Drop: a bi-monthly column in which I, CF Beauty Editor, Olivia Bennett, share my review of a favourite cult product that I (truly) use to the last drop. This week’s featured product is Sunday Riley’s C.E.O Vitamin C Brightening Serum.

I’m messaged by friends and family, at all hours of the day, with recommendation requests for everything from “the budget gel moisturiser that works with combination skin” to “the hard-hitting eye cream that will make Botox a last resort”, and queries on “whether X, Y, and Z from the current trending brand are REALLY worth the hype”.

Such incessant inquiries sparked this column, where I’ll cover best-selling names alongside under-the-radar brands to note. You’ll hear about blow-the-budget products that live up to their hefty price tag and the purse-friendly steals which I unashamedly turn to time and again.

No need to text me, I’ll be sharing all my intel with you right here every other week. Tune in.

THE VITAMIN C SERUM

As we descend further into the fold of autumn, our skin is rapidly losing its summertime glow, resulting in a dulling of our complexions. If you aren't already incorporating a Vitamin C serum into your skincare routine, you can't expect to retain year-round radiance. My favourite is Sunday Riley's C.E.O. Vitamin C Brightening Serum for its super wearable texture, and for the fact it gives my skin the instant oomph I crave. Whilst the long-term benefits of vitamin C mean it's great for repairing skin damage (darks spots and discolouration) and halting the signs of aging by restoring bounce and plumping wrinkles, this serum is particularly skin-enhancing upon application: my skin instantly looks bright and well-rested. Not all Vitamin C serums are created equal, and this one uses an ultra-powerful form of Vitamin C, called THD Ascorbate, which is perfect for sensitive skin types. The non-sticky texture dries to a dewy finish, making any products you layer on top – including your all-important SPF – sit perfectly.
