This Week CF Loves: 01.11.2021

Check out our roundup of the five things that are scorching hot on our radar this week.

From the colour-clash crossbody we can’t get enough of to the New York brunch spot that’s opened shop on Westbourne Grove, our edit has covered all bases.

PLAY THIS Monopoly ISSIMO

Roll the dice to travel Italy in your Maserati Levante Hybrid. ISSIMO, the digital extension of the Pellicano Hotels Group, has teamed up with Monopoly to create a one-of-a-kind edition themed ‘The Italian Road Trip’ board game. Completely customised, the board covers the Bel Paese’s 20 regions and evokes a full road trip to Italy, from its planning to experiencing the incredible iconic locations and hidden treasures, delicious food and fantastic wines, and storied artisans. Off board, ISSIMO invites you on a real-life road trip exclusively tailor made by Bellini Travels. Choose from four multi-day adventures by Bellini in featured regions including Lazio, Emilia Romagna, Veneto, and the unparalleled Dolomites.

SHOP THIS Trunk Mini Leather Cross-Body Bag, Marni

Think of all the places you could wear this marvellous bag: to breakfast, while running errands, in the park, on a girls night out… the list goes on. Sized just right to fit the necessities, we love its sleek, squared-off profile; plus, is functional to the core – note its three open compartments alongside a zipped pocket. À la Marni, its off-kilter colour combinations of olive and orange make it a novel addition to any outfit.

BOOK THIS Sunday in Brooklyn

Sunday in Brooklyn is fast becoming our go-to West London brunch spot. Plotted a short stroll from other Westbourne Grove hot spots, such as Granger & Co and 202, the Williamsburg favourite boasts a menu of sweet and savoury delights. When it comes to ordering, we’d recommend taking a multi-course approach. Breakfast staples like avocado toast and shakshuka are elevated with punchier flavour combinations than we’ve sampled elsewhere – the addition of cashew cheese to the avo toast is a real winner. Once you’ve had your fill of savoury bites, flip to the menu’s sweeter serves – you can’t go wrong with the ricotta and jam brioche or their trade mark ‘Sunday pancakes’. Don’t rush off post-prandial; instead, order a round of drinks – our favourites: ‘Sunday Bloody’ (a medley of mezcal, clamato, horseradish, sambal, and lemon) and ‘Champagne Problems’ (a combo of genepy, strawberry, lemon, and bubbly) and lap up the chilled, off-duty vibes (regardless of what day you visit) of SiB.

DISPLAY THIS Amphora Glazed Vase, Cabana

We’re digging the shape and vibrant hue of this Amphora glazed vase from Cabana. With a ‘bought it on my holidays’ feel, the vase is inspired by the vessels that transported oil and wine across the Mediterranean for thousands of years. Made in Italy using traditional artisanal methods, the eye-catching piece will bring a freshness to any table/shelf/alcove in which it’s placed

COOK WITH THIS Thali

The word ‘Thali’ refers to the way meals are eaten in India; where a mixed selection of delicious dishes are served together on one platter. In her latest cookbook, Thali, cook and food writer Maunika Gowardhan shares her joyful and creative approach to Indian home-cooking. With plenty of fresh recipe inspiration – spanning curries, stir-fries, dry vegetable dishes, and more – this cookbook is the perfect addition to any kitchen counter.
