'Til The Last Drop #22

Welcome to ‘Til The Last Drop: a bi-monthly column in which I, CF Beauty Editor, Olivia Bennett, share my review of a favourite cult product that I (truly) use to the last drop. This week’s featured product is CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser.

I’m messaged by friends and family, at all hours of the day, with recommendation requests for everything from “the budget gel moisturiser that works with combination skin” to “the hard-hitting eye cream that will make Botox a last resort”, and queries on “whether X, Y, and Z from the current trending brand are REALLY worth the hype”.

Such incessant inquiries sparked this column, where I’ll cover best-selling names alongside under-the-radar brands to note. You’ll hear about blow-the-budget products that live up to their hefty price tag and the purse-friendly steals which I unashamedly turn to time and again.

No need to text me, I’ll be sharing all my intel with you right here every other week. Tune in.

THE ESSENTIAL CLEANSER

I'm a firm believer good skin starts with a hardworking cleanser – used twice daily – to remove make-up, pollution, and grime. The dermatologist-approved Hydrating Cleanser from affordable American-pharmacy brand, CeraVe is proof an effective skincare regime need not cost the earth. The fragrance-free, cream-based texture is perfect for sensitive and rosacea-prone skin without compromising on a deep cleanse. It's USP is that it re-hydrates and softens skin as it cleans, all thanks to hyaluronic acid as well as three essential ceramides. My skin is left ultra smooth, soft, and plump, rather than tight, so I'm not immediately reaching for my serums and moisturisers. Plus, the creamy texture feels ultra luxurious in spite of the price tag – win win.
