The UK's Best Wellbeing Retreats To Book For 2022

Paying attention to the quality of our mental and physical health has become more imperative than ever. Instead of looking for quick fixes that expire with January, why not commit to focusing on your wellbeing long-term?

These retreats will provide tools and time to help prioritise your mind and body in 2022.

Bamford Spring, The Cotswolds

Three days of peace, tranquility, and relaxation await at Daylesford Farm in the heart of the Cotswolds. Timed in line with the start of Spring, this retreat includes crystal sound healing, yoga, meditation, spa treatments, and a cookery class, all designed to nourish the mind and body in preparation for a fresh new season.

University Arms, Cambridge

‘Relax and revive’ is the tagline for this two-day retreat hosted by the University Arms in Cambridge. The historical building-turned-hotel draws from its city’s literary surroundings to inspire its guests all year round, and this event focuses on well researched holistic health methodology. Topics covered include nutrition for brain function, body conditioning, mobility, blood flow, sound therapy, and meditation.

Mineral Yoga, Cornwall

No retreat round-up would be complete without one dedicated to yoga, and there’s few better hosts than Francesca Sloan. Her three-day Cornish escape will take place at Cabilla, which is surrounded by 80 acres of temperate rainforest and ancient woodland. Each day will begin and end with creative classes, and workshops, ceremonies, and guided walks will be peppered throughout the itinerary. Regardless of experience level, the combination of immersive nature and yoga vibes promise a rejuvenated outlook in time for the British summer.

The Arriago Program, Somerset

The Arriago Programme’s group retreats in Somerset are new for 2022 and they’re set to offer a safe and healing space specifically for women. Each retreat has a different theme, but we’ve bookmarked the one taking place at the beginning of March; it will focus on ‘realising and releasing the power and potential of the mind’. Expect tailored treatments, body and breathwork, and compelling group discussions.

Go Wild Events, South Downs

Founded by the Department of Wellbeing and located in the picturesque South Downs, Go Wild Retreats encourages its guests to exercise outside. Activities are varied, playful, and expressive, chosen to encourage a sense of exploration of both body and mind. Each retreat starts with breathwork and includes yoga, cardio, and open water-based activities, all fuelled by freshly prepared vegetarian meals.

Our Retreat, Somerset

Our Retreat’s countryside location sets the tone for peak city escapism. Urged to switch off all digital devices, guests are guided through yoga, pilates, meditation, and breathwork sessions that aim to boost the connection between the mind and body. Meals follow a farm-to-table philosophy and ingredients are home-grown where possible.

Curious House, Kent

Creative expression is an effective way to practice self care and Curious House in Kent hosts one-day retreats throughout the year that allow guests to do just that. Spanning everything from painting to flower arranging, creative writing to embroidery, each workshop offers craft as a form of relaxation, meditation, and – above all – enjoyment. Secure a spot at the painted lampshades workshop on the 26 May to leave with a memento that does more than look good in the house.
