A Guide To Paris' Best Cocktail Bars

We never seem to tire of Paris’ charm. From the butter-laden fresh pastries at breakfast to feasting on vino and fromage in one of the many corner bistros from early afternoon, or shopping along the Champs-Élysées, we just can’t get enough of that Parisian lifestyle.

If, like us, you are longing for a dose of Frenchitude and are currently planning a getaway to the City of Love, check out five of our favourite Parisian cocktail bars below.

Jacques Bar

It’s not just the quirky interiors that lured us into Jacques Bar (hello retro mustard sofas, tasseled lamps, and funky floral wallpaper), their pretty unique cocktail menu sparked our interest too. Its tongue-in-cheek drinks list is split into three sections – ‘foreplay’ (aka the lighter cocktails), ‘let’s get it on’, and ‘for a nightcap’, the drinks that pack a punch. We’d recommend ordering the ‘tainted love’, a well-balanced cocktail that includes gin and champers, paired with a portion of their homemade truffle chips – it’s a match made in heaven. Hidden within the Hoxton Hotel, Jacques is a snug den that is walk-in only. While might not get a seat straight away, trust us, those cocktails are worth the wait.

Little Red Door

The Little Red Door might be one of Paris’s most famous addresses. Known around the world for its boozy concoctions, the Parisian cocktail bar opened in 2012 in the arty Marais area and impressively has featured in the World 50 Best bars for the past seven years. On stepping through the petite cherry-hued entrance, you’ll be met with dim lighting, blue velvet sofas, and an intricate,  playful drinks menu. Drinks here look as good as they taste and are all beautifully presented. It’s time to paint the town rouge.

CF Top Tip – On a romantic getaway? Little Red Door is perfect for a late-night rendezvous.

Hotel Roucheouart Rooftop Bar

Rooftop bars are few and far between in Paris compared to other European cities. That being said, it’s quality over quantity and Hotel Roucheouart’s rooftop is definitely one to add to your list. Located in the Pigalle area, it has fantastic views of the Sacre Coeur and a 360 panorama of Paris; this is a quiet retreat, away from the tourist-laden streets below. Their menu is minimal, with only seven cocktails to choose from, all of which are crafted using interesting ingredients including fresh herbs and spices. We’d suggest heading up to the rooftop on a hot summers day to take in the views, soak up the sun, and sip on something refreshing.

Soho House Paris

Cocktails by the pool? Oui s’il vous plaît. Members club, Soho House has finally opened a site in Paris, which feels long overdue if you ask us. The latest house is located in the lively Pigalle district and boasts a bar, restaurant, cabaret room ,and even a petite terrace pool to dip your toe in. Whilst there is sadly no SH photo-booth, they have transported other Soho House classics to Paris including Whispering Angel, avo on toast, plus a few new French fancies added to the mix. It’s the perfect spot for those who want to spice things up and get your Parisian picante fix on.

Chez Francis Saint Sauveur

Wondering where all the cool kids hang out? We know. Chez Francis is an ultra-cool new bar and restaurant in the Saint Sauveur region. The Parisian watering hole has stripped-back interiors, a low ceiling, and a bouncing afro-beat playlist; it’s the ideal place for a late nightcap and a dance. On the menu you’ll find a selection of natural wines by the glass and bottle, IPA’s on the bar’s copper taps and cocktails, including their changing cocktail of the day. Though its new, the bar’s striking red neon frontage attracts a chic crowd like moths to a flame.
