The CF Checklist: April

It’s time to plan your sartorial calendar, aided by April’s dose of The CF Checklist.

As ever, we’ve rounded up the key pieces to add to your virtual shopping basket this month, from the sandals to see you through the summer season, to lightweight linen shirts, and the archetypal wedding guest-ready dress. Happy scrolling.

THE SPRING SANDALS

The Outnet is not only a brilliant shopping destination for designer heavyweight pieces at a discounted price, their in-house brand, Iris & Ink, is a go-to for elevated wardrobe staples. The SS22 collection has just dropped, 85% of which is created using considered processes, and lower-impact, recycled and organic materials. These statement heels are top of my wishlist: their of-the-moment green hue make a statement, but with a chic yet comfortable 75mm heel they will work with an array of summer outfits, from jeans to dresses.

THE PASTEL BAG

A new handbag can be just the ticket for an instant wardrobe refresh, and we're ready to cast aside our trusty black and brown neutrals, in favour of pastel shades to usher in spring. This Fendi baguette bag, with an all-over embossed logo design and signature hardware, is an instant classic.

THE CO-ORD

Hayley Menzies' latest collection, My Name Is Rio, is a love letter to her recent travels to Costa Rica, where she sketched her designs. This verdant print, blooming with hibiscus florals, palm trees, and hummingbirds, is a signature across the collection, adorning pretty dresses to chic separates. This swishy maxi skirt is extra flirtatious with asymmetric frills. Dial up the glamour with the corresponding blouse, or pair with a simple vest for day-to-night beach vibes.

THE FLORAL DRESS

There's always room in our wardrobes for a new floral dress. RIXO's latest collection, Bon Voyage, embraces the joy of travel in a playful vintage-inspired collection of sunshine-ready dresses. We're particularly enamoured with this Camellia dress, featuring a hand-painted floral print on fluid silk. With blouson sleeves and subtle slits, it's a perfect choice for summer wedding season.

THE SUNGLASSES

Fine-jewellery brand Missoma has joined forces with Australian sunglasses brand Le Specs on an elevated eyewear collection. Le Specs classic 70s and 90s-inspired frames have been elevated with gilded details and peppered with jewels from Missoma's best-loved jewellery designs. We're particularly fond of this cat-eye frame embellished with malachite, which will suit all face shapes.

THE STATEMENT LUGGAGE

Away appreciates that packing your suitcase for your next jaunt is all part of the excitement of travel, a notion celebrated in the new happy-making Technicolor collection. Bloom – a striking orange and magenta pairing – is available across the four original luggage sizes, and we have our eye on the Bigger Carry-On to pack multiple outfit choices for weekend trips away. As ever, the collection has all the functionality we’ve come to love in Away luggage: polycarbonate shells and spinning wheels for long-lasting wear, plus that nifty ejectable charger.

THE FINISHING TOUCHES

Looking to add a finishing touch of polish to your outfit? May we suggest this darling heart-shaped ring from Berlin-based fair trade jewellery brand, Wald. A modern reinterpretation of the classic pinky ring, it combines gold vermeil and Swarovski crystal in a dainty statement piece.

THE SELL-OUT SHIRT

Whether you wan't to pair with denim or wear nonchalantly over a swimsuit, With Nothing Underneath shirts are hardworking pieces. The linen-cotton shirts are a sell out year-after-year, so you'll want to snap up the new grapefruit pink striped iteration fast.

THE PYJAMAS

Desmond & Dempsey's ultra soft linen pyjamas are so comfortable you'll be forgiven for wanting to luxuriate in them all day. This cool pair, comprising a Cuban shirt and slouchy shorts are simply made for hot summer nights.

THE HOT COLLAB

NET-A-PORTER x JACQUEMUS have collaborated on an exclusive collection chanelling the glamour of Palm Springs. Comprising signature designs in new hues, the vibrant 23-piece capsule is ripe for spring in a fresh palette of sugary pink and mint green. The Pila swimsuit, made from recycled fabric with a subtle luster and boasting playful cut-out detailing, is going straight in our suitcases – to be paired with a Jacquemus bucket hat and boxer shorts, of course.

THE TRENCH COAT

The trench coat is a transeasonal dressing icon, and perfect for spring. We love the understated simplicity, and life-long wearability of a beige jacket – it's a welcome palette cleanser after wearing black on-repeat. Jovonna London specialises in classics with a modern twist and we love this jacket's oversized silhouette and tortoiseshell buttons, which will add a cool sensibility to your on and off-duty wardrobe.
