'Til The Last Drop #29

Welcome to ‘Til The Last Drop: a bi-monthly column in which I, CF Beauty Editor, Olivia Bennett, share my review of a favourite cult product that I (truly) use to the last drop. This week’s featured product is Chanel Le Vernis

I’m messaged by friends and family, at all hours of the day, with recommendation requests for everything from “the budget gel moisturiser that works with combination skin” to “the hard-hitting eye cream that will make Botox a last resort”, and queries on “whether X, Y, and Z from the current trending brand are REALLY worth the hype”.

Such incessant inquiries sparked this column, where I’ll cover best-selling names alongside under-the-radar brands to note. You’ll hear about blow-the-budget products that live up to their hefty price tag and the purse-friendly steals which I unashamedly turn to time and again.

No need to text me, I’ll be sharing all my intel with you right here every other week. Tune in.

THE NAIL VARNISH

When it comes to nail polish, the seasons very much dicate our choices. Autumn is characterised by deep oxbloods, and moodier hues, whilst in summer we opt for clean whites or neon brights to complement tanned skin. However, a classic red nail polish looks perennially chic all year round. Lauded one of the best in the business, Chanel Le Vernis is the highly pigmented nail lacquer with serious staying power. Available in a kaleidoscope of chic shades, Rouge Puissant is the archetypal Hollywood siren red. It applies thinly and evenly, delivering a strong wash of colour. CF Top Tip: After two coats of your colour, use Le Gel Coat as your top coat. This clear varnish mimics the effect of the gel manicure, keeping nails glossy and chip free for longer.
