The Beauty Edit

CF Editors Pick Their Favourite Beauty Products This Month

From spring-ready nail polish to English-rose worthy blush, there are plenty of colourful beauty launches to signal the seasonal change this April.

Whether you’re looking for a silky body oil to highlight the beginnings of a sun-kissed tan, or wish to switch your heavy-duty moisturiser for a lightweight alternative, we’ve rounded up the crème de la crème of the new beauty launches for you.

THE FRAGRANCE

Like your favourite summer holiday bottled, this second fragrance from LOEWE Paula’s Ibiza is the escapist scent of the summer. Conjouring a mood of playfulness, the scent is a riot; blooming with orange floral absolute and jasmine sambac, spiked with the freshness of mandarin and spicy black pepper, whilst sweet coconut and vanilla add a gourmand quality. The rainbow-hued bottle further sparks joy: I'll be spritzing on cloudy days to manifest the sunshine.

THE NAIL POLISH

Manucurist channels la dolce vita with its latest Positano collection of vegan nail polishes in hot-weather ready hues of vibrant yellow and pastel blue: the antidote to autumn's oxblood and moodier tones. Made from 84% natural ingredients, including cassava and cotton, the polishes are long-lasting and ultra glossy.

THE CREAM BLUSH

Just when we thought we couldn't love Huda Beauty's blush anymore, the beauty maverick has unveiled a new cream stick formula, available in five shades to suit all skin tones. Laced with moisturising lychee and vitamin E, the pigment glides atop your base seamlessly with a sheer wash of colour that can be built to your desired intensity. Perky Peach is my hue of choice, adding that archetypal English rose flush to cheeks.

THE BODY OIL

Tom Ford's Soleil Brûlant fragrance evokes an endless summer with the warmth of amber, zestiness of mandarin, and freshness of bergamot. Now, there is another way to wear the scent in this delicious body oil, flecked with gold leaf to enhance sunkissed skin. The silky oil sinks into skin, leaving limbs with a subtle sheen and a gentle fragrance which can be enhanced when paired with the Eau de Parfum.

THE HAIR PRODUCT

I love the effortlessness of pulling my hair into a low bun, but am not so much a fan of being berated by my hairdresser for the damage it does to my hair. So I was thrilled to discover Rahua's new hair gel – a wonder elixir that protects and strengthens hair as it aids the creation of a sleek 'do'. Packed with organic aloe vera, cucumber, and sugar cane, it enhances the condition of the hair and adds radiant luster and light control.

THE SERUM

I'm always thrilled to discover a new serum to add plump juiciness to my skin, such is the case with this new formula from Summer Friday's. The jelly-like texture is wonderfully cooling to apply, instantly drenching my skin in moisture. Laced with squalane and glycerin to keep skin moisturised for longer, it also packs a skin-soothing blend of colloidal oatmeal, chamomile, and aloe to comfort even the most sensitive of skin types. Skin is left wondorously springy and silky.

THE REGENCY LIPSTICK

The exclusive collaboration between Bridgerton, Shondaland, and Pat McGrath Labs is so mesmeric it may well incite a gasp. Regency meets modernity in this almost too pretty to use make-up collection. The Satin Allure Lipstick comes in seven shades, all with a silky, weightless formula boasting long-lasting wear. The delicate pastel bullet adorned with gilded bow might just be the most darling thing we've ever seen.

THE FACE MASKS

This new skincare kit from Austrian skincare supreme SUSANNE KAUFMANN allows you to enjoy three of the brand's best-selling face masks, depending on your changing skincare concerns. The Purifying Clay Mask deeply cleans and detoxifies, whilst the Glow Mask brightens, and the Moisturising Mask nourishes and improves elasticity. The masks can be used in isolation or applied in a multi-masking technique to satisfy your skin's unique needs. The corresponsing hand-made mask brush adds to the ritual for the ultimate indulgent self-care routine.

THE MOISTURISER

If you are looking to switch your heavier moisturiser for a lighter counterpart for spring, you can't go wrong with this cooling gel-cream from Votary, enrobing skin in a lightweight veil of hydration all day long. Perfect for sensitive skin types, it's brimming with hyaluronic acid to quench, as well as VOTARY's bespoke 21 Super Seed Oil to nourish and sooth, and phytoceramides to protect the skin’s barrier. Perfect for warmer months, it sinks in without a whisper of greasy residue. I was obsessed from the very first application.

THE BROW PRODUCT

If your brow aim is feathery yet softly defined brows this lastest creation by Gucci Westman Atelier is one for your make-up bag. Combining a dry spoolie to fluff and seperate eyebrows with a soft blendable creamy pencil – with a nib angled perfectly to mimic the natural growth of hairs – this nifty tool does all the hard work for you. The result is defined brows that look naturally full and not 'too done'.

THE DIFFUSER

Discerning noses know that Trudon – the world's oldest candle maker – is the go-to for the best home scents. We have long succumbed to the allure of Reggio: an elegant zesty scent comprising grapefruit and mandarin, and now it is available in a smart diffuser. Constructed from a dark blue vase boasting the Trudon emblem, it will look chic positioned on mantelpieces and next to bath tubs.
