The Beauty Edit

CF Editors Pick Their Favourite Beauty Products This Month

Discover all the wonderful new beauty drops that have piqued our interest this month.

From the limited-edition Jo Malone London fragrance inspired by wild swimming, to the transfer-free tan from Vita Liberata that bestows skin with an effortless golden glow, we’ve rounded up the cream of the crop of the beauty world in one handy column.

THE FRAGRANCE

Every May Jo Malone London releases a limited-edition fragrance collection which is always a love letter to something quintessentially British. The lastest collection focuses on the freedom of wild swimming with five aquatic scents – an extension of the iconic Wood, Sage & Sea Salt. Salty Amber bottles the scent of drying skin post-dip, with the warmth of amber and cardomom offsetting the salty accords of seaweed and myrtle.

THE HAY FEVER KIT

Hay fever sufferers amongst us know how debilitating seasonal allergies are: from persistant itchy streaming eyes and blocked nose, to puffy irritated skin, it's not much fun. The Organic Pharmacy understands this pain and so has developed a nifty supplements kit to add to your arsenal. The kit comprises a Sneeze-Away Tincture (a soothing blend of chamomile and nettles), as well as a homeopathic pill to ease symptoms, and a vitamin C complex to reduce inflammaton.

THE LUXE HAND WASH

If you want to impress your house guests when they pop to your bathroom, or simply want to keep this as a permenant fixture in your shower, the Bamford Body & Hand Wash adds a suitably luxe ritual to cleansing. Joining the signature geranium, rose, and jasmine scents, Bamford has unveiled two delicious spring-ready aromas: a zingy citrus and grounding sage.

THE BRONZER

Just when we thought we couldn't love the iconic Terracotta bronzer any more, Guerlain has unveiled a special edition bronzer paying homage to the brand's bee emblem. Comprising 96% natural ingredients, the velvety powder is all you need to mimic a sunkissed glow. Alongside the classic bronze hue, there is a sweet pink blush and a golden highlighter. Swirl your brush through all three shades for a subtle shimmering radiance, or use in isolation to sculpt and contour.

THE SPF

This SPF is quite an overachiever: it's marine-friendly, sweat-resistant, and swim-resistant, all whilst offering broad-spectrum SPF50 protection against UVA and UVB rays. An antioxidant cocktail of vitamins C and E actively reduces existing skin damage – such as hyperpigmentation and dark spots –, whilst carnosine boosts collagen production for visibly firmer skin. It's also a pure joy to apply; lightly scented, it smells like a refreshing glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.

THE BODY SCRUB

I am a loyal devotee of Frank Body's iconic coffee scrub and now there is a new product to love. Trading up the coffee hit for heady rose, this reassuringly gritty scrub melts into a gentle cleanser leaving skin buffed and hydrated. Infused with nourishing rosehip oil it fades the appearance of stretchmarks and scars, whilst goji berry extract and jojoba oil add radiance and superlative softness. Expect limbs you can't help but stroke.

THE SKIN BOOSTER

Farm-to-face luxury brand, Seed To Skin, have added to their natural skincare offering with a multi-tasking hydrating tonic. This gentle formula offers a light exfoliation thanks to lactic acid, whilst silver lactate keeps breakouts at bay, and hyper fermented aloe mollifies redness and sensitivity. Apply morning and night post-cleansing for minimised pores and a dewier complexion.

THE SUMMER PALETTE

Dior Makeup captures all the mesmeric beauty of "Golden Hour" with its Dioriviera collection. Conjuring images of a picturesque sunset, this Bayadère palette of five highly-pigmented eyeshadows – including a champagne copper base, peachy pink and a plummy bronze – is all you need to curate a dramatic sultry eye.

THE TAN MIST

Praise be to Vita Liberata for unveiling a new untinted version of their famous Heavenly Elixir. This delightfully cocoa scented tan is transfer-free, simply leave on skin for eight hours before showering to allow tan to develop. Using a pioneering encapsulated DHA technology, it continues to release DHA for up to three days after application to gradually build an authentically bronzed tan which lasts up to ten days. Whilst some tans can be drying to skin, this intelligent formula contains a nourishing cocktail of organic aloe and coffee seed oil to ensure limbs are not only tanned, but hydrated too.

THE SUMMER MANICURE

Townhouse is one of our favourite nail salons in London for a gel manicure, with the added bonus of chic nail art. They have just announced their Spring/Summer nail art looks, so there's even more of a reason to pop in – as if you needed convincing. Our favourite nail art is 'colour-pop': a playful take on the classic French with an ultra thin slick of pastel polish applied to the nail bed and tip. Subtle yet statement, it is the perfect 'out of office' manicure for your next trip.

THE LIP OIL

Hermés combines delicate scent and colour in an array of juicy new lip oils perfect for summer. Comprising 97% natural ingredients these emollient-rich formulas hydrate and plump lips, whilst bestowing a delicate wash of glossy colour. There are six hues to choose from, all with a deliciously moreish fruity scent. Beige Sapotille is the perfect shade to compliment sunkissed skin: a soft beige with a hint of orange.

THE DAYTIME SERUM

The stellar skincare line from London-based aesthetic doctor, Dr David Jack has been re-formulated to be more efficacious than ever before. Working hard for all skin types with zero irritation, the trio of products are designed to work around the clock. Our favourite is the Good Morning Serum: an antioxidant powerhouse combining a highly active form of vitamin C to protect against skin ageing from sun and pollution, bolstered by niancinamide and a plant-based glutathione booster to reduce pigmentation and visibly brighten skin from the very first application.
