In our new column, A Seat At The Bar we showcase the world’s best bars – from plush cocktail spots to dive bars, and everything in-between.
This week, we’re spotlighting Formentera’s Casa Pacha.
Picture this: an open, wooden canopy and a floor dotted with the flare of scented candles and sprinkled with sand brought in by sun-drunk guests after a day on Playa Migjorn. This is Casa Pacha, the super-brand’s first Formentera outpost. Rustic, earthy, and more chilled than its sister properties with far-reaching views across the horizon, it’s a true celebration of the island’s laidback allure. A seat at the bar offers a (delicious) taste of the 14-room bolthole’s heralded experience.
What To Order
Every hour is cocktail hour at Casa Pacha and trust assured whatever choice you make you won’t be disappointed. Mixology is its forte and it’s top marks for presentation as well as flavour. If wine is your thing, try the local offering – there’s a surprisingly fruitful vineyard just 6km away.
Who To Bring
Everyone’s welcome, so whether you’re holidaying with friends or on a romantic retreat, there’s a table with your name on it.
When To Go
Break up a day on the beach and make your way, sandy-toed, to the shade of the expansive canopy. With views across Formentera’s most celebrated beach, Migjorn, it’s a picture-perfect spot for a pre-siesta sangria or two. Alternatively, stop off for an apéritif en route to a late dinner, Mediterranean style.
The Dress Code
Casual-cool, the Balearic way. There’s no need to pack heels for a Formentera holiday, but this is one of the most elegant drinking spots on the island. Think billowing beach kaftans and crochet co-ords accessorised with wide-brimmed hats and layers of colourful jewellery.
The CF Tip(ple)
Order the spicy marg – it’s not on the menu but it’s so good it should be!
