Hotel Merch For Jet-Set Style: How Fashion Collabs Are Targetting Travel

Fashion collaborations have been all the rage for a while now. H&M are well known for teaming up with designer brands such as Isabel Marant and Lanvin. In 2022 the Adidas x Gucci collection dropped, and more recently Globetrotter x LoveBrand & Co. Now we’re seeing the rise of travel collaborations.

We all post holiday pictures on social media, and smart fashion brands are making sure they’re a part of the #vacay social media game. With holiday planning on the rise, both fashion and travel companies are able to cash in on the swathes of holiday-goers looking to make the most of their long-anticipated getaway.

But it’s win-win for us, the style-conscious traveller, too. These collaborations are making a serious impact on our suitcases. Here are 9 of our favourites.

1. Le Sirenuse x Tombolo

New York-based brand, Tombolo, has partnered – for the second time – with Le Sirenuse in Positano. This collaboration draws inspiration from the many artistic elements of the Amalfi coast, and of the hotel. Limoncello is embroidered onto matching sets, and wooden “corsa” boats serve as the inspiration for other pieces in their collection. We love the printed shirt derived from a painting by Campanian artist Paolo Sandulli. Mixing retro beachwear and Positano elegance, this collaboration is the perfect escape wear.

2. Emporio Sirenuse x Lingua Franca

Founded by Carla Sersale, Emporio Sirenuse has managed to lead the game in stylish collaborations. Emporio Sirenuse, the lifestyle brand founded by Sersale, has now co-created a capsule wardrobe with Lingua Franca, who pride themselves on their sustainability, fair trade, and ethical-labour practices. The printed dresses made from leftover materials are a great holiday choice, while the embroidered, cashmere sweaters are a perfect transition piece for Autumn.

3. Frame x The Ritz

When Frame’s co-founder, Erik Torstensson, and Camilla Al-Fayed get together, you know it’s going to be something special. Enter: Frame x The Ritz. After a collab-collection in 2021, they’ve put their heads together for a second time, launching over 40 new pieces for Autumn. Sweaters, bomber jackets, denim, pyjama sets, and hats make up the collection, each with the hotel’s crest proudly displayed. The embroidered cashmere beanies are a must-have for colder months.

4. Mandarin Oriental x Aquazzura

Always aiming to create sensational guest experiences, this time Mandarin Oriental have gone one step further. Literally. Working with Italian luxury footwear brand Aquazzura, they’ve co-created the ultimate in hotel slippers: a limited collection collaboration sold exclusively in selected suites of the Mandarin Oriental hotels. Choose from striped, tasseled, or pom-pom designs. We love the latter.

5. Marni Marine x Sunset Beach Hotel

For a second year, Sunset Beach Hotel has had a complete makeover thanks to Italian brand, Marni. The hotel’s interior and exterior spaces have been spruced up for summer using colourful fabrics and furniture from Marni’s archives. The Marni Market pop-up shop features a series of design-centric home goods and fashion accessories, some created exclusively for this partnership.

6. Hotel Cala di Volpe x Dolce & Gabbana

To celebrate their 60th anniversary, Hotel Cala di Volpe have teamed up with Dolce & Gabbana. Inspired by the natural beauty of Cala di Volpe Bay, the collection showcases the colours of the Mediterranean and includes kaftans, tees, accessories, and more. You can purchase them exclusively at the Dolce & Gabbana pop-up store inside the hotel.

7. Onia x The Standard Hotel

The Standard Hotel embodies poolside glamour, and this shines through in their capsule swimwear collection, created in collaboration with Onia. A successful blend between the brand’s classic silhouettes and the hotel’s signature colours, we love the Rafaela one-piece, with delicate yellow and white stripes.
