CF Beauty Editor's Favourite New Beauty Products This March

As Spring approaches and, with it, lighter, longer days, Citizen Femme’s beauty editor, Becki Murray, rounds up the best March beauty launches that will help you spring clean your beauty routine.

From makeup bag additions to keep your skin glowing until summertime, to clinically-backed serums and creams, these are the best March beauty launches that we are using – and loving – right now.

THE HERO SERUM

If you haven't already heard about growth factors, get ready to – they are set to be one of skincare's most exciting ingredients for treating wrinkles and other signs of skin ageing. This super-charged version of Bioeffect's best-selling serum contains two types of growth factors, derived from barley, within a formula that only contains 12 ingredients in total; EGF is included to support collagen and elastin production, while KGF helps maintain the skin barrier. Impressive clinical studies showcase visibly smoother skin in three months.

THE BLUSH

You know that beautiful healthy flush you get when you've been out for a sunny walk in the countryside – Chantecaille have recreated exactly that in powder blush form. Available in either a soft or vivid pink shade, the blushers are part of a limited-edition collection inspired by wildflowers, released to support the Villa Abbatis Cultural Association and their work protecting biodiversity. The range also includes an eyeshadow quad and lipsticks

THE SUSTAINABLE RANGE

Sustainable beauty is not just powering change for the planet – it's fuelling industry-wide innovation too. Take Ulé, the latest skincare brand under the Shiseido Group umbrella. It uses 'vertical farming' to supply its 100% traceable natural ingredients; a technique that involved creating an Eco-Farm where plants are 'stacked' on top of each other as they grow, so they don't need acres of land mass. The products are just as interesting; this plumping serum deeply replenishes via plant extracts from centella, tulsi and coleus, plus hylauronic acid, organic olive extract and chestnut extract.

THE COLLECTABLE BRONZER

If you can bear to swipe your brush through the classic Hermès 'H', this should be your pre-summer golden glow. Encased in a refillable Art Deco-inspired case, Hermès' lightweight mineral powder leaves a semi-matte veil of summery warmth on your skin. It's available in five shades and each one has three intensities to add dimension to your face. Plus, a hyaluronic acid-rich formula to avoid it becoming patchy or falling into fine lines.

THE FLORAL FRAGRANCE

The original Mugler Angel is a conversation-starter; walk into a room wearing it and you'd definitely turn heads. This iteration has a quieter approach, with a bigger punch of florals compared to the original's love-or-hate-it gourmand aroma. If you like white floral fragrances, especially jasmine, with a crackle of spiciness and a deliciously warm base, this could be your new Spring spritz.

THE LONG-WEARING FOUNDATION

Long-lasting, full coverage and a flattering semi-matte finish – Gucci’s latest foundation ticks all the right boxes for anyone looking for a new base. Available in 40 shades, the formula is designed not to transfer or slip throughout the day, with hyaluronic acid and black rose oil included to keep the finish looking smooth and bamboo powder to control excess shine. For the best results, make sure to avoid these common foundation mistakes

THE BODY WASH

I always use every single drop of the body washes from &OtherStories – they lather beautifully and leave your skin smelling great, even long after you step out of the shower. This is the version to keep to hand when you need an energy-boost; the spicy blend of black pepper, amber and cashmere woods is instantly invigorating.

THE PRIMER

Prolonging makeup, reducing redness, boosting hydration and minimising pores – bareMinerals' new primers really do have all skin concerns and types covered. My particular favourite is the eyeshadow formula, which primes your eyelids to prolong the life of both cream and powder products. It also provides a silky, smooth finish by using hydrating hyaluronic acid and shea butter, not sticky silicones.

THE HAND CREAM

I always like to have an intensive hand cream in my carry-on when I'm travelling, so I can keep chapped knuckles and dry cuticles at bay. This one from Valmont combines four of nature's most nourishing oils – macadamia, avocado, grapeseed and shea butter – for a deeply moisturised feel that means I don't have to constantly reapply.

THE HYDRATING GEL-CREAM

I tend to be a little like Goldilocks when it comes to the texture of hydrating products – 'that one's too thick' or 'that one's too thin' – but I think Olay's got this one just right. Packed with hyaluronic acid and vitamin b5 to lock water into your skin, the gel-cream has enough creaminess to feel nourishing, but it is still lightweight enough to feel refreshing. Just the ticket for dry, tired-looking skin right now.

THE BOLD LIP

Rihanna knows a thing or two about wearing a bold, impactful lip, so it's probably no surprise that Fenty Beauty's new liquid lipstick delivers all the intense colour you need, without a super dry feel. The creamy texture is easy-to-apply due to the doe-foot applicator, dries with a velvet-matte finish, and is available in five shades.
