Where is your honeymoon destination and why did you choose it?

Since we’re having our wedding on the Amalfi Coast, we decided to do a minimoon close-by in Sardinia. Our official honeymoon will be a safari in South Africa but that won’t be until September. I’ve had so many former-brides stress the importance of taking a few days off after the wedding to reconnect with my partner before going back to ‘normal life’.

Where will you be staying?

We’ve booked the 7 Pines Resort, part of Destination by Hyatt, a beachfront property in a tranquil cove on the northern coast. It was recently renovated and re-opened in August 2022. Our goal this minimoon is to lay on the beach and do absolutely nothing (which is why we chose the island-life of Sardinia over say, Sicily or another busy region that would demand sightseeing). This sprawling resort offers lots of quiet, intimate spots as well as four secluded coves to lounge around in. While Italy is rich in culture and stunning cliffside towns, having my toes in the sand was a requirement for me on minimoon, probably because I’ve been so spoiled by the beaches in Asia. It’s the only way I know how to relax!

What activities do you have planned?

Besides getting totally pampered and making up for lost calories from wedding prep, we’ll definitely be chartering a yacht to explore the crystal waters of Costa Smeralda. With Porto Cervo being a 10-minute drive away, we’ll also be trying restaurants there on a few evenings.

Which brands or designers will you be turning to for your honeymoon wardrobe?

Needless to say, I’ll be turning to my favourite swim and resort wear brands for the occasion. More Noir, Vanessa Sposi and all the brands from The Beach Project are my go-to for swimwear that are comfortable yet so elegant they could easily be paired with city clothes. Agua Bendita, Evarae, Charo Ruiz, Andrea Degreas, Yaitte, A Piece of White – these labels nail the resort-chic aesthetic because they have that ease of wear, yet you always look polished in their pieces.

What items will you be packing?

What treatment prep will you be doing?

I actually have chronic perioral dermatitis, so I need to be incredibly careful about the products and treatments I use. But to prepare for the wedding, my goal was to find treatments that would not only depuff and help sculpt my face but that would also give me an inside-out glow. I’ve been going to Guendalina The Skin Sculptor for a buccal face massage, Dr. David Jack’s Hands-Only facial by Iris Maglanoc, and lymphatic drainage massages at home – booked through the Ruuby app.

INDIA SEHMI

@theindiaedit

Lifestyle creator and tastemaker India Sehmi’s aspirational aesthetic has seen her partnering with leading luxury brands, and there’s no doubt her wedding will exude impeccable taste. Island hopping in the Caribbean for her honeymoon, her edit of fashion perfectly represents her coveted sense of style.

Where is your honeymoon destination and why did you choose it?

We’re going island hopping in the Caribbean – my fiancé has never been and we thought it would be perfect for post-wedding relaxation.

Where will you be staying?

In a few places across a few different islands. One hotel we chose is the Belmond Cap Juluca – my parents stayed there on their honeymoon 30+ years ago so it feels very full circle.

What activities do you have planned?

We’re planning to keep it very zen as we’re expecting we’ll be exhausted. We’ll do lots of swimming in the sea, reading, and would love to go on a boat trip.

Which brands or designers will you be turning to for your honeymoon wardrobe?

Agua by Agua Bendita and Gül Hurgel for tropical vibes, Posse and SIR for simplicity, Doen for romance, HURR for rental pieces.

What items will you be packing?

Which beauty products will you take with you, or what treatment prep will you be doing?
We’re going straight after our wedding, so hopefully I’ll still be glowing from my regular pre-wedding facials. I’ll always pack these Sarah Chapman masks – they’re amazing for a good glow. Other essentials for me on a hot holiday are the Beauty Pie SPF and Glossier’s Cake lipstick.

Digital creator Patricia O’Dwyer balances motherhood with an inspiring social feed of relatable fashion and lifestyle content, from styling reels to everyday outfits. Dreaming of a honeymoon in Mexico, Patricia shares the hotels on her list, the brands on her radar for chic linen, and her must-have beauty products.

Where is your honeymoon destination and why did you choose it?

We haven’t got as far as planning our honeymoon with the wedding madness taking over, but Mexico comes up in conversation a lot as somewhere we would love to go. I am very happy to sit on a beach or by a pool all day with a spicy margarita, but my soon-to-be husband cannot sit still so somewhere with culture and exploring to do is a must.

Where will you be staying?

There are so many cool places to stay in Mexico but I’ve always had Hotel Panamera on my list, it looks so cool (that pool!). I also think Habitas Bacalar seems like a great experience.

What activities do you have planned?

I would love to have the best of both worlds; lazy days in the sun and opportunities to go out and explore our surroundings and immerse ourselves in local culture, interspersed with lots of food and margaritas (naturally).

Which brands or designers will you be turning to for your honeymoon wardrobe?

I imagine myself living in beautiful linen, my favourite brands for this are Arkitaip and Dissh. I’m also really loving Labeca London at the moment. For something a bit dressier, I will turn to my new favourite, Farm Rio.

What items will you be packing?

Which beauty products will you take with you, or what treatment prep will you be doing?

I like to keep things really simple when I’m on holiday but I wouldn’t go without my Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine cream for day and Beauty Pie YouthBomb for night. In terms of makeup in the evenings I would pop on some By Terry Sunny Flash and Glossier Cloud Paint in the colour Dawn, and I never go anywhere without Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze.

ROXY ETESSAM

Born and raised in Miami, Florida but now residing in London, PR and communications manager Roxy Etessam has worked with numerous luxury brands and has a glamorous style reminiscent of her coastal-metropolis up-bringing. Here, she shares her dream honeymoon plans and how she’s mixing high-fashion and highstreet for the perfect synergy of hi-low dressing.

Where is your honeymoon destination and why did you choose it?

Our wedding is coming up this spring, but we decided to wait until next year to set off on our honeymoon – giving us more time to plan properly and make it extra special. We’re considering a few different ideas and destinations, but our ultimate trip would combine an African safari with a stop at a stunning beach in the Indian Ocean. An ideal mix of adventure and a bit of relaxation by the sea. To tide us over until then, we’re planning a minimoon to my hometown of Miami this Christmas for some family time and a dose of post-wedding sunshine.

Where will you be staying?

We’re still very much in the planning (and dreaming!) stage of our honeymoon, but a hotel I can’t seem to get off my mind is Sanctuary Olonana on the Mara River in Kenya’s Masai Mara. I’ve always dreamed of visiting the Masai Mara, and I love how this stunning hotel is not only set in the most perfect location for all things safari and wildlife, but also encourages guests to learn from and engage with the local Maasai tribe. The hotel’s ultra-luxurious Geoffrey Kent Suite looks like the ideal romantic honeymoon hideaway. We could then plan a relaxing visit to the Seychelles following our wild and wonderful adventure – dreamy.

What activities do you have planned?

Nature will of course be at the heart of our safari adventure, with guided tours of the Maasai Mara, taking in all of the vibrant wildlife and natural beauty of the area as well as learning about the Maasai culture and way of life. I’m also dreaming of a romantic couple’s massage at Sanctuary Olonana’s on-site spa with views of the Mara River, as well as a candle-lit local chef-prepared dinner in the African Bush to end the day.

While in Miami for some winter sun, we’ll shop and go for lots of delicious dinners. We’ll stop by The Design District for a touch of luxury and visit Fly Boutique for the most incredible vintage finds. Add to that, lunch at Mandolin Aegean Bistro for the freshest Greek and Turkish delicacies, plus sushi and drinks at Makoto in Bal Harbour for a chic date night out. Combined with beach days and lounging by the pool with a fabulous cocktail, it’s our perfect chilled mini getaway.

Which brands or designers will you be turning to for your honeymoon wardrobe?

I love to mix high and low pieces to create really unique and special looks when travelling, that I then combine with favourites from my existing wardrobe. I think shopping your own closet first and then adding in special touches that can be re-worn and styled again and again is so important for a more conscious fashion mindset. For my honeymoon, I’ll be turning to African brands Tongoro and Andrea Iyamah for really special statement pieces, 16Arlington for a stand-out dress to dance the night away in, Eugenia Kim, Saint Laurent and Loewe for the ultimate summer accessories, and TERRY for the most versatile towelling gems. I’ll mix these with some classic pieces from Zara and COS – my high-street go-tos – again ensuring I’m only shopping pieces I know I’ll re-style and wear for years to come, whilst still making a super-chic impact.

What items will you be packing?

Which beauty products will you pack or what treatment prep will you be doing?

Charlotte Tilbury is my favourite go-to for all things beauty – their entire line is just the best, and I’ll definitely turn to them for my honeymoon. I always start my makeup with a layer of their Magic Cream as it provides the perfect base, and their blush and contour wands provide the ideal glowy touch of colour for a sun-kissed honeymoon look. SPF is of course always a daily must, and I love Charlotte’s Invisible UV Flawless Poreless Primer with SPF 50 – it goes so well underneath makeup and doesn’t get oily. Ultrasun’s line is also amazing for a long day at the beach (or out on safari!) as it protects so well. I love a bit of holiday beauty prep, and Sarah Chapman’s Signature Bespoke Facial, a gel mani-pedi at Townhouse, and threading at Blink Brow Bar are definitely a must before I set off on my honeymoon adventure.
