For perfect summer packing essentials, essential linens and ideal summer days out, this week’s hotlist has a June summer in the Capital covered.

Head along to the Royal Academy of Arts and make the most of the summer heatwave with London’s biggest foodie festival in the park. This is what we are loving in this week’s hotlist.

SHOP THIS E.L.V Denim

After learning that the slightest imperfection can render linen unusable in the hospitality industry, founder and Creative Director of E.L.V DENIM, Anna Foster, realised that reform had to be made with hotels, as the fashion industry is endeavouring to do. Utilising her slow fashion approach and upcycling expertise, Anna collaborated with hotel and member’s club, The Ned London, transforming linen textiles into a capsule collection for Spring/Summer 2023. Anna revalued these linens into shirts, dresses, skirts and shorts, bringing in intricate pleating details that radiate summer. With a fully holistic approach to sustainability and zero-waste, E.L.V DENIM successfully manages to challenge convention in hospitality designing pieces to last a lifetime, each piece unique, proving that circular fashion can be a complete success.

GO HERE Taste of London

London’s largest food festival, Taste of London, is back, turning the green oasis of Regent’s Park into a gastronomic paradise. For 5 days, food enthusiasts will gather to celebrate the capital’s vibrant culinary scene. This year’s festival features a thrilling lineup of more than 120 mouth-watering dishes, crafted by some of the UK’s best chefs. From exclusive eats to delightful masterclasses, food demonstrations to live music, Taste of London promises an unforgettable food and drink journey.

It’d be almost impossible to list or even try everything on offer, but some recommendations include drinks at the San Pellegrino Piazza Bar or savour Grana Padano PDO cheese and Prosecco Doc with their cocktail bar where you can experience a little Italian dolce vita. Some of the restaurants joining the line-up include Seoul Bird, Joia, Jam Delish, Bar Kroketa, Hoppers, Roti King, and Francesco Mazzei. And if that wasn’t enough, you can take home treats from Pierre Marcolini, Godminster, Ooni, Doughnut Time, and Blondies Kitchen.

VISIT THIS Royal Academy Of Arts Summer Exhibition

Since 1769, the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts has been an annual celebration of art and artists, “the world’s largest open submission exhibition” on every Londoner’s annual calendar. This year, renowned British painter David Remfry RA takes the reins as exhibition co-ordinator. Remfry’s Summer Exhibition explores the theme Only Connect, taken from the famous quote in Howards End by E.M. Forster. Among the 1,614 featured works, you may have to seek out the good stuff, but you’ll find it with towering sculptures by the late Phyllida Barlow RA, Richard Malone’s dramatic mobile installation in the Wohl Central Hall, and a witty painting by comedian Joe Lycett.
