What CF's Beauty Editor Is Shopping This July

With a host of new products passing across her desk each month, Citizen Femme’s beauty editor Becki Murray reveals the July beauty launches that are actually worth adding to your routine.

This month, her highlights include the best makeup, skincare and fragrances to bring with you on your summer travels, from luxury travel sets to the facial oil loved by multiple CF team members. Wherever you may be travelling, these are the July beauty launches that our beauty editor recommends.

July is the start of summer travel season, which means I've been testing out flight-friendly sets that make hand luggage-only journeys still a beautiful experience. This collection is one of my favourites – and perfect for weekends away all year around. It contains six of luxury botanical-based brand Wildsmith's best-sellers for a full routine, from cleansing to face cream.

Put simply, buy this SPF if you want sun protection that doesn't feel like a chore to wear. Offering broad spectrum high-factor SPF with a natural matte lightweight finish that actually works under makeup, it's seriously good news that it is finally available in the UK. After all, it is the no.1 best-selling product out of 15,000 retailed on Mecca's site in Australia – and Aussie's know their SPF.

This is the sort of product that, once you try, you won't be able to turn your back on. It's a brilliant multi-tasker with blush and bronzing tones that give you a quick yet natural-looking sunny glow, while negating the need to layer multiple products. Pair with a hint of concealer and a lip balm and your summer makeup is done.

A godsend for keeping your skin hydrated during long flights and for keeping your complexion cool around the pool, Charlotte Tilbury's mist isn't just water. It's packed with skin soothing and protecting ingredients to stop signs of irritation and enlarged pores too, so you can beat 'jet-lag' face once and for all.

My recommendation for an incredibly versatile summer fragrance, this is a case of get it before it sells out. This warm floral by Rihanna adds a 'come closer' sensuality to traditional light summery scents, with a warmth on the skin that amplifies the earthiness of rose, while mellowing gourmand notes of vanilla and tangerine.

I've been a loyal fan of Clinique's Moisture Surge range since I was a teenager – it's what I reach for when my skin starts to feel a little dry. Now, the soft, cloud-like cream also helps you top up your SPF protection, providing a sheer, glossy sheen that leaves your complexion radiant in the sunshine.

My hayfever has been vicious this year and that means all the skin side effects, including irritation and dullness have reared their ugly heads. To help tackle them (alongside medication of course) I turned to the queen of pollution-proofing skincare, Sarah Chapman. Her formulas not only boost radiance, but protect your skin against pollutants, which is a short cut to a refreshed complexion.

A product to have in your bathroom cabinet for post-summer holidays. If you tend to struggle with dark spots and hyperpigmentation, especially after sun exposure, this lotion is a gentler way to minimise their appearance. Containing three of my favourite ingredients for non-irritating exfoliation – tranexamic acid, azelaic acid and PHAs – plus hydrating upcycled tangerine peel, you'll get results without causing redness or peeling.

I have very fine hair so normally oils don't work for me, but K18 is different. Despite being really nourishing and specifically targeted towards stopping frizz, it's not so heavy that it makes my hair look and feel greasy and lank. It's fast becoming my most trusted solution for recovering dry ends, especially after a day at the beach, when I've been in and out of the water.

I was introduced to this lovely skincare brand by our fashion editor – and her excellent skin, yet minimally-complicated routine, means a recommendation from her always catches my attention. In particular, I love the feel of this lightweight oil on my skin and the science behind it is impressive too, with technology that delivers it deeper to provide a longer-lasting moisture boost.

Always with an eye on the future of skincare, ZELENS have reformulated their SPFs to reflect some wide-ranging advancements in sunscreen technology. With new filters that offer broad spectrum protection working in tandem with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant-rich ingredients, the formulas are designed to sink into your skin with a silky smooth finish.

This vegan mascara volumises as it curls, with a bendy brush that helps you lengthen from root to tip in a swipe. What I like most is the use of plant oils which keep your lashes looking healthy and glossy, rather than dry and flaky, while still providing long-lasting results.

I absolutely love a product created by doctors, because they have a unique opportunity to see what their patients need first-hand in clinic. Created by leading advanced aesthetic doctors Dr. Charlotte Woodward and Dr. Victoria Manning, this nourishing body cream has been prepping my skin for summer – with CBD and hyaluronic acid keeping my skin hydrated, while a non-irritating dose of retinol and stabilised vitamin C helps smooth away any bumpiness.
