It may be getting chilly, but Christmas is just around the corner. Here’s what to do with children this November.
This month we’re visiting windswept beaches, cosy country hotels and chic London spots, as well as planning festive fun, special days out and fabulous wintery treats – for parents and children alike. From family-friendly restaurants to the best places to shop for Christmas presents and party wear, this is all the inspiration you’ll need for the month ahead.

BOOK We’re very excited for Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland; Zippo’s Christmas Circus, the rides, the German market, all of it really. Now my daughter is old enough to enjoy the rides, it will make for a super afternoon (no doubt on many occasions). USE With all the excitement, my daughter is enjoying bathtime with the SlumberTime range from Child’s Farm which includes a bedtime bath soak, massage lotion and a sleep mist, all with lavender and moon milk. EAT At Smith & Wollensky for a very family-friendly Thanksgiving dinner. TRY The Calecim hair treatment at Remedi London, a series of treatments for an essential fix to help with post-partum hair loss. BUY This very cute two-piece clover set from Heidi Rose for our upcoming Caribbean getaway.

VISIT We will be getting in the festive mood with a family trip to Skate Somerset House. SHOP It’s time to start Christmas shopping and I’ll be popping into the gorgeous children’s store Luna and Curious to pick up presents for all my little people. ORDER Every year I get my family Christmas cards from Papier. I choose a design and write a message, then the beautifully-printed bespoke cards arrive on my doorstep. I just add a personal note to each recipient and pop on a stamp. Ideal for super-busy mums. BUY I love these pretty initial decorations from Fenwick. I’ll be buying one for each of my boys to hang on the tree. EAT For a cute treat that kids will love, check out Toast’d. Their awesome marshmallow toast’n’dip kits come complete with a portable, reusable toaster – the perfect thing to take on a chilly outdoor adventure this winter. ENJOY It can’t just be kids who have all the fun at Christmas. I’ve booked a festive afternoon tea with friends in the Drawing Room at the new Raffles hotel. I’m so excited to discover more about this addition to London’s hotel scene. TRY I can’t wait for a relaxing massage at the Bamford Wellness Spa when we are in the Cotswolds later this month.

STAY I hope to explore the magic of Longleat Safari Park in Wiltshire this winter. Set in 900 acres of English countryside, you can wake up and enjoy breakfast with lots of four-legged friends. In the run up to Christmas there’s also a Narnia-inspired lantern festival and a Santa train. SEE We love to go to the theatre, so I’ve booked tickets to see Hansel and Gretel at the Royal Opera House. BUY Small Stuff do the sweetest accessories, especially the bobble hats, gloves and cute cord backpacks. PLAY A great place to bring the children and do some shopping is Coal Drops Yard in King’s Cross. This year I’m looking forward to trying my hand at curling and sampling the hot chocolate. VISIT The bars of London’s luxury hotels really come into their own at this time of year. I’ll be sipping a Snowball or Christmapoliton at The Miracle Bar at the Henrietta Hotel. WEAR You can never have enough sparkle, so I’ll be investing in some Completed Works earrings.

STAY We visited East and West Wittering a few times this year. It’s only an hour from London and is a great place to visit if you’re looking for some quality family time. It’s beautiful, even in winter. Check out Wellies and Windbreaks a lovely boutique rental company in the area. SEE The Toy and Model Museum in Brighton. It’s nostalgic for parents and entertaining for the kids. WEAR I can’t get enough of my platform Birkenstocks at the moment: they’re easy easy to slip on and off throughout a busy day and are one of my most comfortable pair of shoes. DRINK Kombucha, which also makes for a great cocktail if adding spirits. PLAY We love Little Dutch toys in our home. They have just launched a new collection called ‘Little Farm”. The activity chicken is a really fun piece. We’ve also stocked up on a few pieces at Mama Shack for Christmas this year.
