This Week CF Loves: 03.06.24

Weekend bags, city breaks and London’s favourite cake.

Take in the sun and indulge in the best that June is bringing our way. Catch this exhibition with your friends and head to this day out with your family. This is what we’re loving in this week’s Citizen Femme hotlist.

STAY HERE Mandarin Oriental Mayfair

Mandarin Oriental opens its much anticipated second London hotel this week. The 50-room Mandarin Oriental Mayfair was first announced in December 2017, on Hanover Square, in what was previously a rather inconspicuous address. The hotel features the first UK restaurant by Michelin star chef Akira Back, who will lead two restaurants, a bar and a rooftop experience. Below ground you’ll find Mayfair’s largest swimming pool, a sauna, vitality pools, experience showers, steam rooms and a gym. It’s an impressive spot for a hotel that boosts just 50 rooms.

BOOK THIS Chestertons Polo In The Park

Chestertons Polo in The Park returns to Hurlingham Park this weekend. The world’s largest three-day polo event kicks off this summer’s social calendar in style with gardens courtesy of Champagne Lanson and Fever-Tree, a Casamigos ‘House of Friends’ popup experience, as well as an impressive Fulham food festival. Plus, England will battle it out against USA in a thrilling international fixture for the coveted Olympic Trophy. Friday sees the tournament kick-off with three matches over the afternoon. Saturday is a great day to enjoy plenty of live music, the luxury shopping village and fabulous gardens and bars from Truffle London burgers to Calamari Canteen. And the final day on Sunday is Family & Finals Day which kicks off with London’s largest kids party hosted by the famous and much-loved children’s party entertainers, Sharky and George. Followed by the afternoon of polo and the Mahiki Day party to finish the weekend off in style.

VISIT THIS Beyond Fashion, Saatchi Gallery

On at the Saatchi Gallery throughout June, Beyond Fashion showcases the work of some of the world’s most acclaimed fashion photographers from Peter Lindbergh to Paolo Roversi, alongside a collective of bustling new fashion photographers looking to make their mark. These works demonstrate fashion photography’s development from presentations of product lines and forms to pushing the boundaries of artistic and photographic creativity. Journeying from the glossy studio setting to the grassroots of street photography, the exhibition is split into four sections: Allure, where timeless beauty is celebrated; Fantasy, a tribute to the creativity of photographers in fashion; Realism, an exploration of the gritty authenticity captured by artists in the street; and concluding with Surrealism, where the work of emerging talents will be showcased, for whom fashion photography is about transformation and imagination.
