Summer is finally looking up and the Citizen Femme team’s calendar is filled with exciting things to do this June.
Including places to eat and stay, plus things to buy, watch and try – this is the ultimate inspiration to see you through the month.

STAY I’m taking a mid-June getaway at Olea All Suite Hotel in Zakynthos, Greece. It will be a lazy but luxe getaway in one of Greece’s coolest hideouts. WEAR I can’t get enough of Dragon Diffusion and their woven bags. I have my eye on this one to carry my laptop during the day, and to transition perfectly into evening drinks. DRINK The excellent Islington institution Trullo has introduced its first own-label wine, a Chianti; I’ll enjoy it either in the restaurant, or at home on the sofa watching a great film. USE I’m really enjoying Perfumer H‘s new gold incense. It fuses citrus fruits, woods, balms and spices with the right amount of patchouli, frankincense and myrrh. It’s from one of the few traditional incense makers in Kyoto, each stick of incense is rolled by hand and it gives such a beautiful scent that lingers at home. WATCH Swan Lake In-The-Round at the Royal Albert Hall in what will, no doubt, be a sensational performance in such a beautiful setting.

STAY I’m visiting El Fuerte Marbella for a long weekend; it’s a beachside hotel in the centre of Marbella with sea views and warm Mediterranean character. BUY I’ve just moved to Buckinghamshire with my boyfriend, and I’m in full nesting mode. As a self-confessed homebody and lover of interior design, I love these oyster-white large ceiling lamps for the bedroom, which will operate as bedside lights giving a calming, serene vibe. EAT Local to my new area, Riwaz by Atul Kochhar is a modern Indian restaurant with a vegan tasting menu, by twice Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar. VISIT Hunza G’s summer pop-up store is back – it’s time to find your perfect crinkle and try on exclusive styles in time for the holidays. WATCH I’m a bit late to the party, but I was recently recommended BBC’s KIN. This Irish crime drama centres around a Dublin family embroiled in gangland war with a rival drug cartel. I’m hooked.

STAY At Odera Beach Resort, a brand new hotel on the Greek island of Tinos; the hotel has been on my wish list for a while and finally opened in late May. BUY This Lisa Marie Fernandez tennis short, ideal for hot summer days in the city, and balmy nights at the bar. EAT A four-course Indian dinner at The Cinnamon Club’s Feasting After Dark concept: it’s just £35 per person if you book post 9PM. It’s the Alleppey-style shrimp curry that’s really caught my eye. LISTEN To Amanda Montell’s Sounds Like A Cult podcast, documenting everything from Life Coaches and Spiritual Scammers to fans of pickleball and Taylor Swift. WATCH An open-air cinema show; you’ll find them all over Athens during summer. I’ll opt for either Escape from Alcatraz (29 June) or The Lion King (26 June) – maybe both!

STAY In London after a lot of long haul travel of late! I’m keeping my fingers crossed the weather is good enough for some beautiful runs around Greenwich Park. BUY A nourishing hair mask to pamper my hair after a month of sun and sea exposure. I’m excited to try Beyoncé’s new haircare line, specifically the uber-hydrating Cécred Reconstructing Treatment Mask. BOOK Benefit’s Brow Bar on Oxford Street for some eyebrow maintenance. The brow techs there really know how to subtly define your face with a quick brow wax and tint. EAT Fresh oysters at The Oystermen in Covent Garden. The fish-packed menu changes frequently as it directly relates to what the restaurant’s associated fishermen have as their catch of the day. It’s delicious. WATCH Season three of Bridgerton on Netflix as I adore the lead actress Nicola Coughlan. Shona Rhimes’ regency-inspired show is the perfect guilty pleasure to watch after a long day in the office.

ENJOY June is one of my favourite months because it’s packed with fun events and parties. We’re off to Royal Ascot for a day at the races with friends. I’ll be filling my hamper full of delicious food and plenty of champagne for our annual picnic. WATCH I’m a huge tennis fan so I can’t wait to go to the Cinch Championships at The Queens Club. I go with girlfriends every year. BUY I’ve had my eye on a Loewe basket for a while, and have decided the tan version is a good investment that will work with every outfit this summer. SEE The amazing new Naomi Campbell exhibition, Naomi In Fashion – it opens at the V&A this month. I’ve booked tickets already. STAY As soon as my boys break up for the school holidays, we’re heading to the wonderful Marbella Club. It’s such a beautiful spot with plenty to keep us all entertained. My kids will love the golf and tennis, while I’ll be happy on a lounger or at the spa.

READ Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams. It follows Queenie Jenkins, a young Black woman in South London, dealing with life and relationships. It won Book of the Year at the British Book Awards and made history with Carty-Williams as the first Black author to win. Plus, the TV adaptation is now out on Channel 4. TRY Topicals Faded serum is amazing for dark spots and hyperpigmentation. After trying many products, I’ve found that this one actually works. EAT I highly recommend the weekend bottomless brunch at Th@51 Restaurant and Bar in St. James’ Court. The new menu is inspired by flavours from around the world, but the highlight for me was my cocktail being served in a bag (order the Iced 51). BUY I’m loving the Sariah dress from Reformation this summer. It’s perfect for all occasions, whether weddings, holidays, or brunches. As a short girl, I appreciate that it doesn’t drag on the floor. WATCH House of the Dragon is finally back for season two this month. If you love storytelling, and intense familial drama, this show is perfect.

USE I’m currently obsessed with Sol de Janeiro – their body butter is divine and the best smelling cream out there. REFRESH Your underwear draw with Cou Cou Intimates. I love the sweet floral cotton pointelle. VISIT Kew Gardens. I love taking my kids here, it’s a beautiful spot for a picnic and exploring. The Temperate House is wonderful and there’s a beautiful exhibition by Marc Quinn. WEAR Bows, my new collection with Marzoline just launched; I particularly love the maxi polkadot bows and the Toile de Jouy fabric. EAT At Josephine Bouchon from Claude and Luci Bosi – a cosy French neighbourhood restaurant serving good food without pretence.

STAY I’m very excited to be visiting Amsterdam for the first time this month. I’ll eat at ARCA by Henrique Sá Pessoa (the Michelin-award winning Portuguese chef behind JOIA in London), and check out the vibrant interiors of art’otel Amsterdam. SHOP While in Amsterdam, I’d love to spend a couple of hours checking out some of the incredible vintage clothes stores the city has on offer, including Ensō and Lucille. DRINK At London’s new cocktail bar Chiave in Shoreditch – I’ve heard their martini is divine. BUY A new bikini from Form & Fold I love that they cater to fuller busts and I have my eye on the triangle glitter top and 90s staple bottom. READ Newly-released The Last Sane Woman by Hannah Regel exploring art, a career in the arts, and life – and the rollercoaster that joins the three together.
