What CF's Beauty Editor Is Shopping This July

With a host of new products passing across her desk each month, Citizen Femme’s beauty editor Becki Murray reveals the July beauty launches that are actually worth adding to your routine.

This month, her highlights include multiple ways to fake that summer glow, including a new highlighting blush palette and results-driven skincare. Wherever your summer adventures may be taking you this month, these are the July beauty launches that our beauty editor recommends.

THE EYE CREAM

If you struggle with puffy, dull-looking eyes due to frequent travel like me, this new eye cream – from the brand also behind one of my favourite face masks – needs to be top of your beauty wish list. It contains a gentle retinol to improve dark circles and fine lines, alongside a trio of hydrators, including ceramides, to deeply moisture. It's basically eight hours sleep in a tube.

THE LED MASK

Did you know your neck shows your age even faster than your face? Mainly due to the fact that the skin there tends to be thinner – and we may forget to extend our skincare down that far. This clever silicone mask from FAQ makes solving the issue easier, using leading LED technology with eight colours, including red, near-infrared, blue and green, to tackle all signs of ageing, from fine lines to pigmentation.

THE BLUSH

Chanel's summer 2024 makeup collection is a joyful celebration of colour that contains creamy eye-flattering eyeshadow sticks, bold nail polishes, face-defining highlighters and (our personal favourite) the Blush and Highlighter Duo. All designed to emphasise your summer glow, and allow you to experiment with confidence.

Summer 2024 is all about embracing joyful colour through your makeup if Chanel’s gorgeous new collection is to be believed.

THE GLOSSY LIP

Fenty Beauty's award-winning Gloss Bomb is now available as a high-shine lipstick, which gives you even more high impact colour (in 10 available shades). Plus, the formulas have a super hydrated, plumping finish due to a whole host of natural buttery oils. If we had to pick just one to try, it would be Fenty Glow.

THE BODY SCRUB

One of our beauty editor's favourite tanning brands now has solutions for your body – just in time for the summer. What we love most about the range is the gorgeous rich textures and uplifting scents, which make lightwork of polishing and moisturising away dry, dull-looking skin from head-to-toe.

THE SHOWER BOOSTER

Need a wake-up call from your morning shower more than ever right now? Molton Brown's new shower gel fragrance, Reviving Rosemary, is the answer. The aroma of grounding geranium, rosemary and patchouli is designed to be inhaled while you are in the shower, and it does wonders for mental clarity.

THE HAND CREAM

This is the sort of hand cream that you'll want to buy again as soon as you squeeze out every last drop. That's because the rich formula instantly nourishes dry, rough hands, using Gold of Pleasure Oil, with the addition of niacinamide for a youthful glow over time. There's a choice of three scents too, with the warm sandalwood aroma a particular highlight.

Once you finish this hand cream you’ll want to buy it again and again due to the incredibly nourishing formula.

THE BRONZER

Whether the sun shines or not this summer, you can cheat your way to a radiant glow (and add some definition to your cheekbones) with this bronzer that's available in four shades. The lack of shimmer makes for a super natural, matte finish, but it's hydrating enough due to antioxidant-rich ingredients to ensure it doesn't fall into pores.

THE BRIGHTENING SERUM

Vitamin C is a hero brightening ingredient and this new one from Cerave is particularly noteworthy because it combines 10 per cent pure vitamin C (the most potent kind) with a moisturising blend of ceramides and hyaluronic acid to keep skin plump and less prone to flakiness. It's the serum to consider if you want to start building a more actives-based skincare routine.

THE FRAGRANCE MIST

This is such a summery scent and now it comes in a mist format; perfect for popping into your beach bag to spritz across your body and hair all summer long. The aroma of dragon fruit, orange blossom, tuberose and musk is light, but very uplifting.

Throw this summery scent into your beach bag and you can enjoy the tropical mist for your hair and body all day long.

THE MATTE LIP

The clever shaping of Laura Mercier's new Caviar lipstick makes cleanly defining your lips, especially the cupid's bow, really quick and simple (so you can leave your lip liner at home). The collection has beautiful colourways to match too, with a range of 15 shades in a soft matte finish that's especially impactful for summer evenings.

THE SALTS

A treat for your skin and your mind, these bath salts instantly upgrade your bathtime experience. They utilise Dead Sea Salt and soothing Colloidal Oatmeal to give your skin instant relief from dryness and irritation, and if you are a bit of a gym bunny, they will help soothe tired muscles post-workout too.

THE LIP TINT

If 'no makeup' makeup is your favourite complexion look, this lip colour launch from Iconic is for you. With pink and brown shades perfect for all skin colours, the silky cream provides a subtle yet smoothing wash of colour across your lips, which feels light and buttery for long-lasting wear.

THE SPF

Hate wearing SPF (but know you should)? This Neutrogena sunscreen is super hydrating and lightweight so feels more like a moisturiser than sun cream, while still providing high factor protection. It also sits really well under makeup, helped by nourishing ingredients including hyaluronic acid, pro-vitamin B5, niacinamide, and antioxidants. It's your summer multitasker.
