Let me confess. I’m a hotel snob. Are you? If so, do you dare admit it? I’ve come to have certain expectations, the linen, the service, the quality of the bathrobes, the amenities.
But for you, what really makes your travels luxury, makes them really special that you feel sad to leave a holiday? Have you longed for an extra couple of days and actually said bye to the hotel staff as if you’ll miss them? We would hope a website or a social profile does a property justice, but it doesn’t always give you the “vibe” that you connect with. So, we seek recommendations or look to us at Citizen Femme (of course, your travel BFF).
I had that on my last trip to Greece. The hotel was very nice, yes. Perhaps not the MOST luxurious. But my God did it leave an impression. So much so, I hugged the staff as I left (as did my kids) saying we will see you next year. It was my first ever all-inclusive. Admittedly, I never thought I’d enjoy one, perhaps I was a little dismissive of them too. But the staff felt like family, with me, my husband and most importantly my children. And really happy children who sleep well at night on a family holiday is EVERYTHING. That for me, is luxury and cannot be portrayed on a hotel’s website or Instagram.
