August is all about festivals, fireworks, food and of course, the Fringe.
Looking for last minute travel plans? Sensational food, spectacular food and beaches – yes, this is the trip you should book. Here’s the mini-cultural escapade to take with the whole family and the only mode of transport you need for your upcoming Ibizan getaway. City workers? Pop in here this August for some great Mediterranean vibes. This is what we’re loving in this week’s hotlist.
Theatre, even Scotland lovers, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival is not only the world’s largest arts festival, its filled with an endless variety of theatre, comedy and more on display, and while there are big names, it’s also a place where legends are made – the likes of Tom Stoppard, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and endless top comedians. More than 3000 shows take place and the city comes alive creating a non-stop whirl of endless shows over the three-week period. This year sees plenty of family friendly shows from Hamlet Hears a Who- a fast-paced, funny Dr Seuss adaptation of the Shakespeare classic, to Shamilton! The Improvised Hip-Hop Musical, not only for being pretty much as jaw-droppingly brilliant as the original Lin-Manuel Miranda blockbuster, but also for the incredible ability of these performers to create an individual show, night after night, with a story based entirely on the suggestions of the audience. Youtube sensations to La Clique cabaret, a weekend, a week or the entire show is worth a visit this August.
Synonymous with Longchamp for more than three decades, Le Roseau attained iconic status in the nineties, and has been in demand ever since. The secret to its success? An timeless design with a signature bamboo-inspired toggle, offering an air of sophistication to suit and elevate the lifestyle of the woman who is always on the go, well, the Citizen Femme. Over the years, Le Roseau has adapted to our ever-changing lifestyles, and for FW24, Longchamp unveils brand new shapes, sizing up to accommodate an office laptop or down for days when all we need is a phone. Le Roseau is also now interpreted in a colour palette spanning from timeless neutrals – Clay, Paper and Chestnut – to vibrant hues like bright green, celadon and orange. A stylish addition to our handbag wardrobes.

Fancy grabbing a private yacht for the day? Uber’s most luxurious mode of transport, Uber Yacht, arrives on the shores of Ibiza. Offering a day of luxury for a fraction of the price at €200 per person, this allows travellers to pre-book a private yacht for the day directly via the Uber app. Departing from Ibiza Town Marina every day at 12pm, the Yacht will offer groups of up to 8 people the opportunity to sail around the white isle in a luxurious Sunseeker Yacht for just €200 per head (although there is a fixed cost of €1600 for groups of 8). Each 8-hour trip comes with its own personal skipper, a complimentary bottle of champagne and locally sourced artisan snacks. In Uber style, transfers to and from the yacht are included – from anywhere on the island. From exploring the crystal waters of Formentera to sunsets at the legendary rock of Es Vedra, Uber Yacht is available between 3-17 August and bookable up to 48 hours in advance.
I’d travel for pistachio. My biggest cheat is the pistachio ice cream at Badiana’s ice cream. Now Eataly London is celebrating all things Pistachio for the entire month of August with their Pistachio Passion Festival. From 5th to 25th of August, Eataly London will be championing their extensive stock of pistachio products and flavoured treats across their restaurants. A special menu will launch at their Pasta e Pizza restaurant, as well as new pistachio desserts in The Gran Caffe. To top it all off (literally) Eataly are also launching their new pistachio spread. Plus every Thursday at Central Bar from 6pm, they bring a rotation of acoustic acts so you can enjoy an Aperol Spritz and set the tone for your weekend.
