The Beauty Edit

What CF's Beauty Editor Is Shopping This September

With a host of new products passing across her desk each month, Citizen Femme’s beauty editor Becki Murray rounds up the very best September beauty launches that she’s tried, tested, and loved.

As we start the transition to autumn from summer, these are the best September beauty launches. They include the latest ground-breaking Dyson haircare product and multiple lip colours in a variety of finishes that you’ll want in your makeup bag throughout the biggest fashion season.

THE HAIR SERUM

Dyson is shaking up the beauty industry once again! This time by launching its first ever haircare products. The pre-and-post styling serums will leave your hair soft and protected – holding your chosen style for longer too. Whether you're devoted to your Airwrap or a first-timer to Dyson tech – you'll want to have these on your dressing table.

THE MATTE LIP

The Byredo makeup collection by Lucia Pica turns each cosmetic into a covetable work of art, and nowhere is that more true than with the curved geometrics of the statement lip colours (which also makes application a dream). Now in easy-to-wear, non-drying matte finishes, you'll want to show the 10 colours off on your lips – and in your makeup bag.

These new matte lipsticks are works of art for your transitional summer-to-autumn makeup bag.

THE CONCEALER

With a trio of skincare actives – niacinamide, vitamin C and hyaluronic acid – MAC's latest concealer doesn't just cover dullness under your eyes, it helps treat it too. The luminous longwear finish and buildable coverage in an impressive 44 shades makes it our top recommendation for your concise travel beauty bag.

THE UPDATED CLASSIC

Givenchy fragrances have a reputation among beauty editors for having that 'must come closer' allure, and the latest intense version of L'Interdit continues the tradition. The white floral bouquet of tuberose, orange blossom and sambac jasmine is lifted by warmer facets of lavender, woods, cardamom and tobacco, making it the perfect autumnal perfume that will last (and last) on your skin.

This new intense version of a classic scent is the perfect transitional autumnal perfume.

THE MOISTURISER

Need a moisturiser that makes your makeup sit brilliantly throughout the day? This lightweight formula from Merit is it. Packed with peptides, spermidine, oat extract and polysaccharides, it helps support your skin barrier, and keeps your skin firm and hydrated so your base glides on seamlessly – and stays that way.

THE GOING-OUT LIPSTICK

Matte is definitely the lipstick texture of the new season. Chanel has just launched its collectible and refillable 31 Le Rouge range in the finish. All 12 shades are inspired by colours from the House's fashion heritage, so you can expect them to be oh-so flattering.

You heard it here first. Matte is the finish of the season – for both your lips and your eyelids.

THE EYESHADOW

By Terry have always been one of my go-to brands for eyeshadow sticks, and the latest colour range does not disappoint. They're brilliant for travelling as you won't need to bring a full, fragile palette with you, and the new six buttery colours (which dry with a matte finish) are designed to be the perfect eye-defining neutrals for all skin tones.

THE INDULGENT CREAM

As the weather gets colder an indulgent cream can be just the cuddle your skin needs. With the addition of white truffle, ectoin and silver tree root extract the formula doesn't just hydrate, it also adds radiance by providing antioxidant protection against skin-dulling pollution, and by decreasing inflammation.

As the seasons change, make sure you nourish and lock moisture into your skin.

THE CONVERSATION STARTER

Want to start a conversation with your next fragrance? Delphinus by Creed will help you do it. The ambery and smoky scent is inspired by the constellation, and it crackles with heat due to black and pink pepper, plus the warmth of incense, vanilla and orris.

THE BODY TREAT

This new face and body milk has all the cocooning, nourishing prowess of Embryolisse's best-selling Lait-Crème Concentré, but with a lighter texture that makes it perfect for escapes to hotter climates this autumn. Also, its just the ticket for soothing your kid's sensitive skin without having to rub in a thick cream.
