We are counting down to Christmas (less than 100 days). Some rejoice, others cringe. What I do embrace is Autumn wardrobes and all the exciting events that come with October onwards. The team have some fabulous October plans from cosy countryside escapes to grilled gambas with friends at a Sunday brunch.
I’m particularly excited about our October Women In Art event, kicking off the month with a sensational group of women at one of London’s coolest private member’s clubs. Make sure to check in here to catch it take place! Plus, CF heads to New York for our inaugural stateside event… more to come!
I’m very excited to have Marine Tanguy join us as a columnist with ‘The Images That Make Us’, where she will select a painting, sculpture, or a photograph and respond to its creative and cultural moment and importance in how it shapes us as individuals – how impactful the daily visuals that bombard us, affect us.
Planning ahead for October half term? We’ve got you! Stay tuned for Morag’s top tips on what to do during the month and where to travel! And travel specialists F&P have a super competition to enter (closing next week, so enter quickly!)
Europe has had a bumper summer. While final visitor numbers aren’t yet in (because it’s still summer across much of the Mediterranean, and you still have time to visit!), plenty of stats show an increase in European stays this year, even compared to the pre-pandemic numbers of 2019. Where have we been going? Spain, Italy, France and Greece all come in top – something that has been reflected across Citizen Femme over the last few months. We’ve had writers and editors exploring Mallorca, Milan, Paris, and all corners of Greece. I particularly love this piece showcasing the quieter side to Mykonos because yes, it does exist and yes (again), it’s beautiful.
I’m equally excited about all the non-European destinations we’ll be highlighting over the coming months. Personally, I have trips to Dubai and India in the calendar, and our writers are jumping on planes to bring back the latest news and stories from Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Japan and beyond.
After all, we all need some sunshine through the longer, darker winter months.
