The Best Halloween Experiences In London

Searching for creative ways to enjoy Halloween in London this year? Our guide has you covered.

You don’t need to be big Halloween fans to enjoy the exciting events lined up for the week ahead. So, whether the costumes are already co-ordinated or you’re just looking for a good excuse to head out this week, we’ve rounded up how some of our favourite spots in London are celebrating this season, because nowhere does Halloween quite like the capital.

Including the gory and the glamorous, the spooky and the chic, this is Citizen Femme’s guide on where to eat, drink, and party this Halloween and Hallo-weekend in London.

Thirteen Ldn

On Saturday, November 2nd, Thirteen Ldn in Soho is hosting a night that promises to be as bold and rebellious as the history of Denmark Street itself, a night of riotous cabaret, tantalising drag, and over-the-top burlesque. Prepare to be bewitched by Badass Kheski Kobler and Velvet Jones, two seductive burlesque performers who will set the stage ablaze with their fierce, glamorous energy. And back by popular demand, Lolo Brow returns to the bar to deliver her punk-infused, no-holds-barred cabaret performance. Enjoy the show from 8pm, over an eclectic menu of handcrafted cocktails and Japanese-inspired bites.

Sexy Fish

Sexy Fish are celebrating their hotly anticipated annual Halloween dinner party on Saturday 2nd November. This year’s extravaganza includes a night of electrifying entertainment, including an exclusive DJ set from Mark Knight, alongside costumed dancers and live fire artists. Adding to the immersive experience, a team of make-up artists will be on hand throughout the evening to bring your most haunting Halloween look to life. Guests can indulge in the à la carte menu, or the ‘Scary Fish’ omakase, as well as an impressive Halloween-themed dessert platter – which includes a show-stopping white sugar skull filled with mixed berry compote, white chocolate, yuzu cream and almond cake, all served with raspberry ‘blood’ sauce.

Bocconcino

This Halloween, the renowned Italian restaurant group Bocconcino will add glamour to the spooky season with a collection of fabulous events. On Thursday 31st October, Bocconcino Mayfair will host Venetian Shadows – a lavish evening of food, live music and entertainment. Guests can enjoy a sharing feast of Italian dishes and, to accompany the food, diners can choose from free-flowing champagne at £95pp or bottomless spooky-themed cocktails at £85pp. Live DJ’s and striking decor will set the tone for this opulent evening, while diners will be encouraged to don a Venetian mask to fully indulge in this night of glamour and mystery. Bocconcino Soho will be hosting The Spirits of Soho – an enchanting weekend of mystery, magic and indulgence. Entertainment will include a master illusionist, who will be performing mesmerising tricks alongside a live DJ playing Halloween-inspired beats.

Brasserie of Light

Running until the 31st October, Brasserie of Light invites guests to step into the spooky world of Hitchcock’s thriller Psycho with their Brasserie of Fright experience. The iconic restaurant, located within Selfridges, has undergone a Halloween transformation, taking reference from the infamous Bates Motel for a fully immersive Psycho experience. Think blood-spattered windows, hand prints in the bathrooms and a shower-scene moment for guests to capture their own Psycho moments. On the 31st November, the eerie atmosphere will be further enhanced as actors bring the film to life; treating diners to a series of surprises throughout the night. Guests can also indulge in two specially crafted Psycho-themed cocktails, while the ‘It’s Norman’s Knife’ dessert (pictured above) is not to be missed.

Sushisamba

On Friday, November 1st, from 10:30pm- 3:00am, Sushisamba’s Sambaroom will be hosting its Día de los Muertos party. The bar will be transformed into an unforgettable afterlife celebration, featuring electrifying beats by DJ Giacomo Moras and headliner CASSIMM. Guests can revel in hauntingly beautiful Mexican Calavera attire, indulge in handcrafted Volcan tequila cocktails, and dance all night with views across London’s skyline from the 39th floor of the Heron Tower.

Hithe + Seek

Celebrate Halloween in style this year at Hithe + Seek, where two devilishly delightful cocktails have been expertly brewed to set the perfect eerie mood. Available for £18, until Thursday 31st October, in-house mixologists have crafted two spooky-inspired drinks that promise to cast a spell on all who dare to try them. Whether it’s the ‘Black Widow’ a smoky and bitter mezcal and Campari creation, or the ‘Beware of the Potion’ a wickedly green concoction conjured up from gin and Midori liqueur, they’re guaranteed to get you in the Halloween mood.

Bagatelle

The newly redesigned Mayfair restaurant boasts lively and energetic sets from renowned DJs and artists each week, creating an exhilarating and captivating atmosphere from start to finish. This Halloween, from dinner on Tuesday 29th October to brunch and dinner on Saturday 2nd November, there will be Día De Los Muertos themed decorations, entertainment and seasonal specials throughout the restaurant. Bagatelle’s chefs have created marigold-hued dishes using the finest seasonal ingredients, including the pumpkin spice cream, caramel biscuit and caramelized apple dessert (above).

Ixchel

Last November saw the launch of Ixchel, the highly anticipated Mexican restaurant and Tequila bar that opened in the heart of Chelsea. Diners and drinkers are now transported to the exotic Yucatan peninsula as Ixchel brings a taste of Tulum to the iconic King’s Road. This Halloween (Thursday 31st October), join Ixchel to celebrate the Day of the Dead with a black tie masquerade evening of entertainment. The exclusive sit-down dinner is curated by guest chef, Olivia Burt, in collaboration with Mexican-born head chef, Ximena Gayosso Gonzalez. Expect live music during dinner, followed by partying until the early hours with resident DJ Clare spinning tribal beats throughout.

NYX Mayfair

Tucked behind a hidden door below Gaia restaurant in Mayfair, this intimate members-only speakeasy club is opening its doors for a Black Swan themed party. Start the night at the bar in Gaia restaurant before heading downstairs to NYX – expect a decadent setting throughout, with black feather backdrops and sheer drapes hanging from the chandeliers. Coupled with the moody and atmospheric lighting, live DJ’s and special cocktails will set the tone for a night of refined debauchery and beautiful chaos. Starting from 9pm until late night, guests are encouraged to dress up in all-black attire accented with feather details. Reservations required.
