Autumn is in full swing and the Citizen Femme team’s calendar is filled with exciting things to do this November.
Including places to eat and stay, plus things to buy, watch and try – this is the ultimate inspiration to see you through the month.

STAY Having just returned from two weeks in the Caribbean for half term (and a very special family trip to Four Seasons Nevis), I’m very happily staying put in London, and enjoying the city in all its winter glory as the lights are starting to sparkle. TRY There’s a new studio I’m excited to try, MAD Mayfair for their Lagree and Power Yoga classes (wearing my favourite yoga brand of course) MAKE I’m all over this recipe of chocolate quinoa crisps that found me through social media, very easy to make and utterly moreish. EAT I’m looking forward to trying Tuscan restaurant Belvedere in Holland Park, such a pretty looking restaurant that you’ll find after a walk through the nearby Kyoto Gardens. PRE-ORDER I’m still all over the suede trend and love this suede option from Manu Atelier, but I need something bigger for my laptop so this deep brown Tote du Jour has won my heart/credit card. WEAR I’m really enjoying wearing my LEGRES leather ankle boots which I lived in last year. They have walked many miles for casual and smarter occasions, very comfortable but very slick. TAKE DAILY Curcurmin (tumeric) really is a miracle spice. For gut health, overall wellbeing, stress management, this is exactly what you need. I take the one from Natroceutics as recommended by Dr Vijay Murthy, an excellent holistic medicinal practitioner.

WATCH I’m all about the cosy vibes at home, and indulging in new series is my favourite thing to do now the darkness has returned. Disclaimer on Apple TV is addictive and some of the best TV I’ve seen in a while. BOOK It’s the final countdown for the impending arrival of my twins, and I’m excited to document my pregnancy with Studio Bust at their bespoke pregnancy sculpture studio – it will be such a lovely keepsake and memory of growing my boys. TRY Cocoon Club, a luxury bag subscription service that gives you access to the best designer handbags – each month or on demand – without the cost of keeping up with new styles and seasonal trends. EAT At Yasmin Soho to try their plant-based Feasting Menu. This Middle Eastern-inspired restaurant on the rooftop of 1 Warwick St is a seriously stylish spot with small plates you’ll want to savour. STAY We have booked our babymoon for the end of November, and are staying at the beautiful Estelle Manor in Oxfordshire for a long weekend of good food, indulgent spa treatments and cosy autumnal romance.

STAY In Athens, with plans to explore museums that I haven’t yet visited. The Ilias Lalaounis Jewelry Museum has been on my list for a long time, and the Mini Greece museum opened last month, depicting tiny versions of famous Greek monuments. VISIT The Athens Palestine Film Festival which celebrates Palestinian culture, voices and cinema. I’ve booked tickets for the closing night. TRY To boost my immunity for autumn and winter using some of these supplements. Propolis, echinacea and vitamin C have been a part of my winter routine for a while, but this year I’m looking to elderberry and zinc too. BUY A new coat without breaking the bank, and I love this double-breasted herringbone style from GAP. LEARN (Or at least try to learn) more Arabic. I’m already using Duolingo but am starting weekly lessons with a private tutor to try and boost my understanding. Wish me luck!

STAY At the luxurious health and wellness retreat, RAKxa in Bangkok, following in the footsteps of celebrities like Jourdan Dunn. You can get so much out of the five-day programmes as the concept combines high-tech new technologies with traditional South Asian principles. DRINK Moth cocktails to toast my birthday this month (and to keep my celebrations very well-hydrated) with classics such as espresso martinis and margaritas. TRY The Polish & Perfect treatment with Dr Reena, to brighten my teeth ready for party season. It’s like a ‘facial for your smile’ and my sensitive teeth loved it. LISTEN To The Trial – a great podcast from court journalists who deep-dive into some of the UK’s biggest cases in real time, including the Lucy Letby inquiry. If you love true crime, you’ll be totally hooked. WATCH The Lehman Trilogy at the Gillian Lynne Theatre. Don’t be put off by its ‘financial’ theme – this show is a touching and surprisingly funny look into family dynamics and the ‘American Dream’ through the story of the three brothers behind the previous banking institution. FOCUS On my wellbeing to stop winter fatigue striking. This is why I’ve been writing about my favourite green powders and ways to avoid winter colds recently.

PLAN November is a month I love to spend at home, but I’m using the time to plan trips for next year. In spring we will be heading to our home in South Africa and then off on safari, maybe staying at Phinda or Nambiti game reserves as both are nearby and are excellent for families. EAT I’m hosting a dinner at Kerridge’s private dining room at the Corinthia later in the month. It’s a beautiful hotel that will be super-Christmassy by then. WATCH Yellowstone is back on our TV screens this month, and I can’t wait to see how things end up for the Dutton family in the final ever episodes of this epic Western series. WEAR We are off to stay with family in Wiltshire for a weekend of outdoor fun. I’ll be wrapping up warm in my Barbour jacket and popping a cosy liner from Marfa Stance underneath. GIFT I’ve recently discovered a British brand called Plum & Ashby who make the most gorgeous home fragrances so I’ll be taking a Neroli and Bergamot Candle for our hostess. GIVE BACK This month I’m helping out an amazing charity called Stripey Stork with their wonderful Christmas Giving campaign where they arrange presents for children of all ages who might otherwise wake up to nothing on 25 December. Other charities such as Action for Children and Barnardos run similar campaigns and now is the time to get in touch if you would like to donate.

BUY The new KHY puffer jacket before it sells out again. It’s got that effortless, oversized vibe – a must for the colder days ahead. WATCH Rivals, the new steamy drama on Disney+ based on Jilly Cooper’s cult novel. The cast is incredible – David Tennant, Aidan Turner, Emily Atack, Danny Dyer, and Katherine Parkinson – and if you love a good mix of scandal and high society drama, this is the show to watch! READ My current read is Gabriel’s Moon by William Boyd. It’s an exhilarating mix of espionage and travel, taking you from the sixties streets of London to sun-soaked Cadiz and frosty Warsaw. I’m hooked. SEE There’s a lot of hype around the Wicked movie starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, but there’s also something magical about the theatre experience. My sisters and I already have tickets, and we’re counting down the days. I grew up obsessed with The Wizard of Oz, so seeing Wicked the Musical live will be a full-circle moment. EAT At SUSHISAMBA for their Taste of Samba menu (you have to try the Pisco Braised Lamb) and, obviously, cocktails afterwards in the energetic SAMBAROOM. Plus, SAMBAROOM has also recently launched ‘Friday Sessions’ with live DJ sets until 3am. It’s the ideal Friday night in one spot.

SHOP Rouje and Missoma London – two of my favourite brands – have collaborated on a beautiful limited edition jewellery collection. The French fashion house and London-based jewellery makers name the likes of Paloma Picasso and Loulou de La Falaise as their muses, and the result is elegant and bold, with notes of deep reds and blues. Plus, the collection is made with 100 per cent recycled gold and silver. READ After watching the film Lee (which I highly recommend) starring Kate Winslet as the late war photojournalist Lee Miller, I’d love to read The Lives of Lee Miller written by Antony Penrose (her son) who discovered her pioneering photographic work after she died. BUY RIXO’s collections always capture my attention but the Denver Jacket went straight into my basket ready for lots of events this festive season. EAT Aqua Nueva’s new à la carte menu. I’m willing these vibrant dishes to whisk me away to the sunnier coasts of Spain via the ensaladilla (tuna with Navarra piparra peppers) or the gambas al ajillo and artichoke flower. With plenty of tapas-style sharing plates it’s also such a fun spot to visit with friends. VISIT I’m looking forward to a trip to Lake Como later this month; it’s a spot I’ve always wanted to visit and I’m especially intrigued by everything the Italian spot has to offer in the winter.

WATCH The West End’s highly anticipated new show, The Devil Wears Prada, starring Vanessa Williams as Miranda Priestly, with music by Elton John. I’ve watched the film a million times so am very excited to see this. Grab a Devil’s Kiss cocktail at The Mandrake pre-show. ENJOY The jaw-dropping panoramic views of London at Duck and Waffle. I must admit I’m not great with heights, but taking the glass lift to the 40th floor of the Heron Tower in Bishopsgate is breathtaking. For me, it’s all about their high-end comfort food; I love the grilled octopus and king prawns drowned in garlic butter, but my winner is the signature dish – crispy leg confit with a fried duck egg topped with maple syrup. STAY At my favourite hotel, The Ned in the heart of the city. I’m always wowed by its 1920’s luxurious glamour and art deco decor and love the beautiful grandeur and coziness of their rooms. BUY I currently live in hoodies and gym gear at the weekends, so I’ve got my eye on Ganni’s oversized jumpers – this mint green sweater will see me into spring.

STAY Pennard Hill Farm in Somerset is on my radar with the launch of their Farm Stays & Feasts – think country walks, homemade charcuterie and rejuvenating swims. BUY I’ve got my eye on Trudon’s just-launched holiday candle collection, featuring delicious scents of spices, rose, amber, orange and cinnamon. WATCH Paul Mescal in Gladiator II. Enough said. BOOK AIRE’s Orange Garden treatment. This one hour massage and facial, plus 75 minutes to unwind in the thermal baths with a glass of fizz, sounds like the most blissful treat to warm up with this month. BEAUTY Dry, wind-chapped skin always makes an appearance about now, so I’m popping a tube of Austin Austin’s new hand cream with vetiver and palmarosa into my handbag. VISIT I’m hoping to catch the glorious autumnal colours in the grounds of Blenheim Palace, before touring the magnificent state rooms to learn about its fascinating history.

BUY A jacket from L.Cuppini. Norwegian-born founder Lea Lindaas seriously knows her stuff when it comes to outerwear, and this cropped leather jacket in the perfect shade of brown is set to be my new wear-with-everything throw on. STAY The Newt in Somerset has been on my staycation bucket list since it opened in 2019, so I plan to finally make it happen this winter. I’m looking forward to exploring the abundant gardens with our little one, as well as admiring the interiors from co-founder and former Elle Decoration editor, Karen Roos. BEAUTY In a bid to turn back the clock as I creep ever closer to a milestone birthday, I visited the Dermasurge Clinic on Harley Street for a visit with Dr Hiba to try out Vitaran polynucleotides – an injectable bio-stimulant derived from purified fish DNA that encourages collagen and elastin production. WATCH MasterChef: The Professionals is back for its 17th series. I love following the chefs’ post-show success stories and, for me, it marks the beginning of winter and cosy nights in with my husband. EAT Bagatelle in Mayfair has recently had a redesign, I’m looking forward to checking out the elevated Mediterranean dishes, alongside live music and performers for a unique dining experience that’s perfect for date night.
